Re: EMC2 news

Notably hidden among the budget items for NASA was a $100 million allocation to develop a nuclear thermal rockets. Does anybody know if polywell tried to get their fingers into that rice bowl? This comes up from time to time. When we were working in Manassas Park there was an initiative within NASA...

Re: Deneum - deuterium/titanium interaction produces energy

"Other lattice metals may offer more favorable virtual state nuclear reaction prospects; these remain to be explored. Other metals e.g., titanium, nickel, manganese may also yield more favorable in situ DD reaction characteristics." (p 7, General Conclusions). http://www.askmar.com/Robert%20Bussard/...

Re: EMC2 news

Simulation was a gnarly problem in 1995. What qualified as a supercomputer then would not be adequate as a gaming video card now. The problem of simulation got easier once they physically proved that wiffleballs would form if you did things right, and hard enough. Back in the 90's, Dr. Bussard was a...

Re: Drones

The shadow has gone dark, RQ-7B is finally fully retired after its last mission during the rim of pacific exercise. trainer was pulled a few months back. we might have one or two people on this form that would be interested in knowing that. Heh, I expect they can no longer get processors to keep th...

Re: Water based propulsion for deep space efforts

Did you ever write the end of that story? The novel in which I first developed the craft has never been finished, but I've used the Sunfire in two published stories, "The Devil and the Deep Black Void", and "The Gardener." As I said, I can't really claim the invention. There are a couple of thousan...

Re: Water based propulsion for deep space efforts

The owner of the company replied to a comment attached to the article: Hey CJ, Zeal is a small thruster for an attitude control. It doesn’t have high ISP, because it shouldn’t, it should be small and with low power consumption. And Zeal is not plasma thruster, it is resistive electrothermal thruste...

Re: Water based propulsion for deep space efforts

https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/21/propelling-deep-space-flight-with-a-new-fuel-source-momentus-prepares-for-liftoff/ First product has a specific impulse of 150 to 180, later products higher as the supplied power increases. The chief benefit seems to be cost. EDIT: more information on the website o...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

I was not saying I believed it was real (which I didn't), I was saying that 17% of democrat voters believed it was real, and voted for Hillary anyway. Your stats also said that 46% of Trump voters believe a false internet rumor was real. But it was fabricated. As were a number of other stories. At ...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

Wikipedia is not a reliable source on politically charged issues, especially when a fair treatment might tend to challenge the democrat Narrative. I stand by my initial assessment of pizzagate: consistent with the known character of the accused democrats, but short on evidence I'd want to go to cou...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

The Pizzagate article on Wikipedia shows the problem with the last election and our current political system in one paragraph. A poll of voters conducted on December 17–20 by The Economist/YouGov asked voters if they believed that, "Leaked e-mails from the Clinton campaign talked about pedophilia a...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

And now we get to the real problem. We had an election in which our choices were two odious piles. So at least you recognize that Trump is one of those odious piles. And you LOVE him. What are we going to do to stop electing odious piles? George Will had some opinions on this. I note that some of th...

Re: Anarchy?!?!?

I think this is not anarchy, if the Wikipedia article is correct. The new autonomous government is composed of councils elected directly by the people . This community administration is leading an effort to plant thousands of new trees. The community has since seen a crime rate of nearly zero. Follo...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

I just asked a bunch of questions. The point is, there is a group of crack investigators and lawyers looking into a bunch of actual legal questions, none of which are "collusion", and the POTUS keeps tweeting "no collusion". I think it must even put it on his lunch orders. Meanwhile, he keeps acting...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

Exactly. Collusion is too vague a term to have any legal meaning. Obstruction of justice is not vague. Conspiracy can be very specific, although it has to be connected to some specific wrongdoing to have any legal punch. Funneling foreign money into Presidential campaign coffers? Knowingly accepting...
