Re: A "prior" for cold (room temperature) fusion

The correct way to make this test is by avoiding the steam phase altogether. Which statement basically proves to me that you have NOT bothered to read or investigate closely the actual evidence. In the 18 hour test, they did PRECISELY that....."avoided the steam phase altogether". "parallel" specif...

My design details: Water pipe in, divider, 99% of water bypassed, 1% diverted to a small tube passing through a few hundred watt resistive heater (coffee pot heating element), a small side vent to show steam coming out. Thermometer in same diverted 1% water flow pipe to show high temperature. Downs...

Thank you, Warthog. The first link is to a report of tests through January, with their problematic calorimetrics. The second link gives a little information about the February test. No procedural details. It mentions a report to forthcome - I bite my nails waiting. I think it is safe to assume that...

The description of the February test, with an 18 hour duration and claimed 15 kW output, could be exciting, except that the nominal independent observer, Dr. Joseph Levi, has not released a report or even a description with any details of the procedure used. http://www.lenr-canr.org/acrobat/LeviGre...

The person, or persons, supporting him from within academia are, as you say, the ones who should be questioned on it - hard. It is wise to listen to the critics, as I say so often. It is they who can usually establish the robust path to an evidential demonstration. Listen to your detractors, grassh...

So I want an explanation of all the energy they aren't getting. OK so where did the mass that didn't turn into energy go? Hidden in the magic powder as a photon flux? Or maybe they need to set up a neutrino detector. Probably just leaked. Hydrogen is a known "escape artist", and I doubt that, since...

"Let's just wait until October. If we hear no more about Ing. Rossi we will know why, and I will simply add his name at the end of my personal list of "amazing claims but no results" companies, in good company together with BLP, EESTOR and STEORN.L[p]

Most sane comment on the thread. Thank you.

I don't quite understand the water problem. If it increases reactivity so what, it boils the water off, then no more water, then reactivity goes back down. Carbon tends to react with water at high temps, yielding hydrogen and carbon monoxide (the "water-gas" reaction). Used to be used to make "town...

"A space plane could use aerodynamic lift to keep it up as it accelerates to several thousands of MPH before climbing out of the atmosphere. . At that speed, especially in an equatorial launch profile, the craft will have acheived ~ 10-20% of orbital velocity, so its weight would be ~ 10-20% less (...

Re: Hydrogen 'Fraidy Cats

So you're telling me if you type in "CalTech" "hydrogen" and/or "Eiler" then you get nothing!!?? gee... research skills, eh!? Try "soil acidification" "elemental hydrogen", which is what it appeared you were talking about. And this is the first time on this forum that the word "Eiler" has shown up,...

Re: Hydrogen 'Fraidy Cats

Acidifcation due to protonation is well known and is a function of bio-chemistry, rather than in-organic. The soil is the main sink for elemental atmospheric hydrogen, by mechanisms not yet well understood. Unless you understand them and can explain them, then perhaps you best not make such general...

Re: Hydrogen 'Fraidy Cats

I should also add that the hydrogen emitted into the atmosphere might already be having the effect I have suggested, just that currently it is masked by bigger atmospheric agents; - ozone depletion (what fraction is due to H2 and not CFCs?) and - acidification of sea and soil (what fraction is H2 a...

Hydrogen 'Fraidy Cats

Guys, I have bad news for you. Hydrogen is ALREADY an "industrial scale gas". The US alone produces and uses 9 MILLION TONS per year. One company alone (Air Products) has over a thousand miles of dedicated hydrogen pipelines in use. Hydrogen is used every day, from scales of a few cc/min up to tons/...

"Sure. And you think other capacitor mfgs. are not hard at work on it? The bulk material BaTi (for short) is very common in the industry." Re-read what I said about the improvement of nanostructured materials over bulk. 100X improvements over bulk properties are NOT uncommon these days. As to whethe...
