Re: ClimateColab fusion entry needs votes!

Thanks for the vote mattman!

MIT generally gets a fair amount of press coverage for these things, and the conference they're organizing should bring policymakers and investors. A win here gets us exposure beyond just MIT.

ClimateColab fusion entry needs votes!

I'm a finalist at the MIT ClimateColab, with an entry promoting polywell, focus fusion, and other alt-fusion efforts. There are three finalists in the category, judges will pick one winner and popular vote will pick another. Winners will present their entries at a conference at MIT, in November. The...

Help! I have a chance to promote alt fusion to the U.N.

I have a chance to promote alt fusion research to people who directly advise the Secretary General. I need your votes. MIT has a contest to crowdsource solutions to global warming, and winners present their ideas at Congress and the U.N. I’m a finalist with an entry that advocates alternative fusion...

Regardless, Polywell isn't the only interesting fusion project going on. Focus fusion and (I think) Tri-Alpha are even aneutronic. I don't expect them all to work, I'm just hopeful that the universe will cooperate with at least one of them.

And of course I owe Tom Ligon a great debt because he took the time to train me in Polywell and correct my misconceptions. And I can't forget Eric at Classical Values who put up the Google video that got me interested in Dr. B's work. And just to spread it around, all the friends I have made at Tal...

Also, judging by the recently released paper, the Navy is aware that releasing it to the world would have much grander benefits to national security than keeping it secret. No more oil wars, and no excuse for refining uranium...they mentioned both. Since the U.S. is the only country with a really la...

Polywell on ships

Regarding crusiers and amphibious assault ships, would a polywell reactor be cheaper to buy/operate than gas-turbine or diesel turbines + electric motors? Would it require similar or smaller crew sizes? Would the increased time it could run without resupply be operationally significant for the miss...
