Re: They Killed Him And Found Nothing

You know, marijuana legalization or at least decriminalization is one of the few things where liberals and libertarians can come together on. So in terms of either party reaping greater benefits from legalization than the other, it's unlikely.

Re: Living off the grid is illegal

The article is a bit misleading. It's important to note, that contrary to most views of activist judges, most judges, especially at the very low level of initial court cases (like this one) are very reluctant to make sweeping decisions. And in many cases, a law may be unreasonable, and yet not uncon...

High Beta Fusion Reactor

I know this was spoken of by Lockheed about two years ago-- has their been any further information on it? Also, is it an aneutronic reaction or not?

Any news on Lockheed's fusion plans

They unveiled their "high beta" fusion reactor concept several months ago, but has their been any news since then?

Building a prototype

Okay, it's commonly stated that an actual functioning prototype would cost about 200million to make. Here's a question-- what needs to be done? ARe there serious theoretical and design obstacles that might keep it from being made, or can we confidently say: while we don't know if it will work... we ...

Re: Bussard's Polywell patent application is finally dead.

Another problem is that there have been so many "sure fire" fusion style patents that it's very difficult according to some scientists I spoke to, to get one. On the other hand-- the day they produce break even with teh polywell, they can refile and then they WILL have met the most fundamental requi...

Be honest, I see both democrats and republicans as pretty wedded to our current drug war. Yeah there's been some minor movements, but nothign major and I think we need to remember that John Q Republican and James Q Democrat often both recieve a lot of funding from teh same sources. The prison indust...

Re: News: Iran, Polywell and 8 Million Dollars? ?

Fundamentally it's the same for Iran as it is the US-- a relatively low cost program that could return them big dividends-- not simply physically, but in terms of propaganda if Iran develops the first workable fusion reactor. That's a great strength of polywell research-- you can do work-- meaningfu...

The article's title is in error. Because nobody argues that habitual drug use is good for you-- and that includes two of the most deadly drugs on the planet-- nicotine and alcohol. (While they may not be as dangerous on a per-capita base as compared to crack, their wide availability drives the numbe...

Rossi is a fraud, or mentally ill. He swindled the DOD, and never came back with his magic boxes when they didn't work. He stuck the Italians with a magic oil making process that...didn't. Fortunately for rossi, as this board demonstrates, a sucker is, truly born every minute. Even more fortunately ...

SABRE always reminds me of VASIMR and TRITON. All of them are "just engineering" in that there are no new physics involved. I'd like to take some issue with this-- there have been many programs, where the "just engineering" part actually turned out to be the stumbling block. We think Sabre will wor...

I have to agree with ladajo here. It does not look good for Rossi. And my main sourc eof annoyance is that it also doesn't look good for the entire LENR community--or to put it differently considering the articles in popular mechanics and other mainstream sources, its more likely people have heard ...

Here is an article of the prtuguese decriminalization. Note that this is after a full decade of the program, so we can take the evidence as representing long term trends. http://www.businessinsider.com/portugal-drug-policy-decriminalization-works-2012-7 The Cato institute paper 9is here: http://www....
