I was referring to an updated website design.

Gotcha!

Seriously, thanks for the news Chrismb. I'd been searching for any new info about them and wasn't aware of the patent issue.

Yes, I've read Tainter. And Jared Diamond. And nuts like Jim Kunstler. (I've actually discussed things with him!) I was Ulan Bataar in the late 90's, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Oil imports and financial assistance that Mongolia was receiving from the U.S.S.R. basically dried up over nig...

I feel I should s peak on this, hahah. I'm a reformed doomer. Not many doomers have as much experience and practical knowledge as I do. (Lived on a building powered by wind/solar, grew own vegetables, etc.) Peak oil production is real, will happen soon, and have negative effects. It is NOT the end o...

What's your one-worder for NIF? NIF isn't practical. lol. Seriously, though, what all the haters? Maybe I should clarify my opinion of Lerner. I would not call him a quack. I would call him a scientist, albeit with some reluctance. The qualifier "eccentric" is indisputably accurate. I would object ...

Oh yeah, here's an interesting tidbit;

Murali, one of Eric's co-workers, used to work with Nebel on POPS in Los Alamos. I asked him if he talked to Dr. Nebel at all, and he said he asked Rick what his neutron was....

The answer?

"I can't tell you."

I would be interested in knowing how you reached this conclusion. Hopefully not just on the basis of a friendly conversation. Have you read his papers? Do you have the education and experience in plasma physics necessary to be able to detect flaws in his arguments? There are a few good things I cou...

Jesus, you guys are harsh. I just talked with Eric Lerner and Mureli on Monday, and no, he's not a quack. Eccentric, yes, but a solid scientist. Eric acknowledges he doesn't has all the answers or all the problems solved yet, but the entire purpose of his device to attempt to answer some of these qu...

My question above, please - the one that says: "Why does he think his approach will work better than all the previous DPF experiments that concluded it wasn't a route to viable fusion power? Is it just that little 'twist'? Is that really going to make such a big difference it'll jump the gap of via...

New Meet-up at the end of the month!

Eric's back in NY later this month. I'll be there again, once again hopefully bringing questions from Talk-Polywell......

So, what should I ask him this time?

Interesting. When I spoke with Eric Lerner and his team last month, I asked what other fusion device they thought had the highest chance of success. Murali, one of Eric's team, had previously worked with Dr. Nebel in Los Alamos. They all seemed to think IEC POPS was the best bet.

The dinner is over and I had a nice opportunity to sit and chat with Eric and one of his employees, Abdelmoula Haboub. Very cordial dinner. I sat next to Abdel and he took time to answer all my questions. I didn't have time and the balls to monopolize Eric with all the questions, but I did ask a few...
