The table says a 2" pipe carries ~10 lb/min of steam (1 psi pressure drop). For one hour that is 600lb of steam Say 1150 btu/lb to boil water. 1150 x 600 = 690,000 BTU 1 kW = 3412 BTU So 690,000 BTU = 202 kW You were right. - I don't normally use kW for heat... Something is screwy. Even 50 psi drop...

Kiteman is correct. According to the link, 220 kW is the amount of steam a 2" pipe can carry over a distamce of around 40 feet and only lose 1 psi of pressure to friction with the pipe walls. of course that fact means absolutely nothing when it comes to predicting that the reactor would blow if it g...

Parallel Interesting link thank you: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/22657/22657-h/chapters/flow.html Am I crazy or does table 68 show that a pipe with around 3 square inches of area can pass 60lbs of water per minute at 25psi absolute pressure? here is a youtube video of a 25MW steam generator: http...

I'm getting a bit pissed off that some here are calling me incompetent blah blah blah cos they don't understand the principle behind my though experiment above. So. Just for those. Here is a more similar to Rossi "uncontrollable" TE-Cat. It won't perform as well, but will easily acheive Q > 1. The ...

I'll ignore the character stuff, and deal with your criticism of the thought experiment. True, it is somewhat contrived. But all the elements are possible in a genuine E-cat which has been optimised to do well in this sort of test without any malice. Rossi is not getting X100 Q, and his measured X1...

Tomclarke, Too bad the output of the device was a single opening and the majority of the internal structure of the device is a high surface area heat exchanger, rather than an "insulated hot metal slug". Please see the pictures and reports freely available online. Why don't you postulate a design t...

This whole thing may very well be a fraud, but making up an absurd explanation that is physically impossible based on readily available evidence is not a good way to prove it. Being a material scientist I am familiar with ultra high k dielectrics and used to lurk at eestory. I found the arguments ag...

sparkyy0007 1.8 tons of water did not go through the box and we don't actually know how much cooling occurred if we don't have an accurate Tin / Tout. Is it your contention that there are two thermocouple placements that could explain the observed data? How does thermocouple placement explain the c...

T The correctness of my theory doesn't depend on the E-Cat being real. Based on everything he has said and that I have seen, it could very well be that Rossi is a confabulator. He could have convinced himself of greatly excessive E-Cat heat production simply as a result of momentum, confirmation bi...
