Well you either have laws and regulations to protect peoples property and lives, or you dont. If you dont have laws and regulations, you have anarchy. That is the right of the strongest. That means anyone could come and rape your wife and doughter, take everything you own and if you are lucky, he wi...

heheh, cool!
He even goes for the dodecahedron shape :)
Not that I think, he has a large chance of success (he admits that himself), but it is definitely an admireable endeavour.

It will take a little more work to convince me. As I said, I prefer law and order, that way everyone at least knows what to expect (or should know since laws are to often not executed correctly). Of course, if some company sells my wife a drug that kills her and I can then go and kill some managers ...

I guess, I am one for the few here that are for law and order instead of anarchy. It is funny how many here are for deregulation and letting the market regulate things by themselves. Some even talking about people diing due to low regulations being acceptable somehow. I cant agree less... I personal...

Thanks Chris!
Thats highly appreciated!
The MHD part I should have been able to guess, there is a hypthetical submarine propulsion system that works that way...

Aaaaaargh! Please for the sake of those of us that are not worthy of participating in a discussion like this, but would really like to at least have the feeling they understand a fraction of what you are saying, could you guys please refrain from using abbreviations like that? I think everyone here ...

I think I saw someone else asking this before:
why so many pistons? One should assume that you can shape the shockwaves in a different fashion, especially in a liquid?
Maybe I am missing something...

Finally some news! And it is rather positive (though carefully positive). That is not unexpected though given that WB7 is not much different from WB6. I would have not have expected anything different from a serious and honest scientist like Dr. Nebel. I cant wait to see more detailed information ab...

Given the lack of any Polywell- related news lately, news-items like these are a welcome -lets call it- distraction... I for my part have no problem with this, but then I dont run this board. That does not say that I have any opinion on Blacklight, other than that it does seem a rather strange and u...

Yeah funding does not automatically make their theories more believeable. If (!) this thing really ever turns into something that works (and I mean really repeatably and testably works with margins larger than measurement tollerances), then it would sure make for some interesting research material a...

Yeah I read about them too and that they got funding... I am curious about their claims. In the Google presentation Lerner seemed very eager to demonstrate that their device was closer than Polywell or Tri Alpha... Now I am not a physicist, so I cant really say anything about it. The whole thing see...

Makes you guys appear less superhuman to lame hobbyists like me ;)
Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting your comments on this Art!

I think that people are oversimplifying the issue. The climate as well as weather effects are a chaotic system in that they are affected by more than just one element. Let me just list a few affectors: 1. Sun- activity 2. The tilt of the earth axis (the earth is slowly tumbling arround). The more la...

Just to update on a point I often make about the USs bad choices in its allies. Pakistan is on the verge of anarchy and this is a country that already has nukes. Now the police there is mass quitting out of fear from Al Quaida. The new government is more islamistic than the old one was and generally...
