Maybe technology like this helped making a nuclear battery type of reactor more feasable: http://technology.newscientist.com/article/dn13545-nanomaterial-turns-radiation-directly-into-electricity.html In any case this is very interesting. Still totally impossible to get that put anywhere where I liv...

Dude, it is already illegal to drive on drugs and we do still have a problem. I am from Europe, btw where things are a lot more liberal than in the US in general. Marijuana is not that big a problem and could potentially be handled like alcohol (with some stricter regulations- and I am even against ...

Oh please... legalizing certain plants as you guys say has not worked anywhere. Even in the netherlands where it is not legal per se actually, they are thinking about abandoning this. Even they would never consider legalizing certain plants. The whole idea is total bull anyway. If you ask me how to ...

40 knots? That seems pretty fast to me.
What supply ship makes 40 knots (sustained)?

If you buy one of these greeting cards that play music and throw it on the floor and step on it, you have destroyed more computing power than existed on the entire planet at the time of the first moonlanding... Agents from east and west would have killed each other (and probably have) for this kind ...

We are using LightWave3d here. Doing anything from viz to custom tools with it. It is a very capable application and easy to afford. Autodesk applications (pretty much anything else now, other than Cinema4d, Lightwave, Houdini and Blender) are not easy to afford. I also do not like Autodesks licensi...

First nuclear != nuclear. Nuclear Fusion and nuclear fission are two very different things in about every aspect. Someone who is somewhat well saddled in even the most basic phyiscs should easily be able to unerstand he differences and make decisions accordingly and that even if the person has never...

True, but there are different kinds of defence spendings. I can spend money on weapons and defense systems research or I can spend money on building a (civil-) defense- infrastructure in a country that is mostly not thanking it to you anway. Personally I think that is not money well spent. However I...

Add: "You can not afford to fight a war like a publicity stunt" to the list. You might look good to the public that way and some might even feel good about the war because of it, but you will never win the war.

I have heard the opposite. He said that he sees nuclear power as a critical and important part in energy independence. Anyway once this war is over, there will be tons more money for anything else, including Nuclear Fusion, I am sure. Oh and dont even get me started on the Iraq war. This war is a fa...

Dont even get me started on this "organisation". Greenpeace is nowadays a rich company. Their ideals of the past are long gone (personally I do not think they ever had any)... Besides I dont think anyone there has ever really understood much of anything. They are against anything that is man-made. T...

Yeah, I saw that... I am sceptical to day the least. It sure sounds kinda silly and they even say there that it wont make for a practical power source. Still funny what weird stuff people stumble upon by accident.

Greenpeace is nothing but a big money making organization. Their so called "goals" are only a facade for lots of money that is shifted arround behind the scenes.

Even Tokamaks wont produce THAT much nuclear waste.

To underline my original point: http://www.gizmag.com/all-electric-mini-los-angeles-auto-show/10229/ So if you want to have a mini that makes just 150 Miles, you have to give up the already very small backseats... That does not sound like a very efficient way to store energy to me. The reduced syste...
