I just forwarded Jim's technical group some materials on superconducting metamaterials that manipulate Thz frequencies as they'd be handy for certain M-E applications, but I haven't heard back what people's opinions are yet. As Andrew Palfreyman put it, "there are lots of ways to skin this M-E...

Awwww, just as Jim Woodward stabilises his experimental rig enough to report a consistent 2-3 uN thrust signal (which should be a cause for celebration, even though we should maintain a degree of healthy scepticism, see below) this thread degenerates into such harsh words. Shame on us, but I guess ...

Reversing the thrust through phase is an important control, but so is the physical reorientation of the thruster on the balance arm. The ARC Lite was designed specifically so that any test items mounted can not only have their orientation switched left or right, but also up and down. There is some ...

maybe someone should leave a note to Paul March so he can come here and show his point of view? AcesHigh: In God we trust, all others bring hard data, including Mr. Stahl. BTW, I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for what Dr. Woodward has tried to do with his Mach-Effect research o...

STAIF 1999. OK, Dr. Woodward and Paul are then no doubt already familiar with this momentum controversy. Delta-V: Yes, Woodward is very familar with the issues rasied about hidden momentum in E&M fields, as is so well descibed in Richard Feynman's 1960s lecture series, Book-2. However you do ha...

Sorry about that. Here you go . Guys: I prefer to let Dr. Woodward explain the problem here, but off the top the person in question apparently doesn't appreciate the differences between special and general relativity. A hint, special relativity only applies to phenomenon within the local light cone...

After reading several of Jack's arguments and debates with Woodward , I'm seriously starting to suspect that he either does not want to understand mach effects or just likes to start arguments for fun. I mean, he still does not understand what phi is after Woodward has explained it dozens of times ...

Aces, you have my permission to copy the above to the physics forum. I am currently past my measure concerning my involvements online. I can't add another forum to my schedule. As is, I don't read nearly so much as I'd like here. I'd just like to point one last thing out as regards this uninformed ...

A decent network analyzer should do the job in seconds (probably minutes to hours to figure the meaning). http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/product.jspx?nid=-536902444.0.00&lc=eng&cc=US You can rent them for a month at a time. You might also look here: http://www.arraysolutions.com/Produc...

From the SpaceX website: http://www.spacex.com/falcon_heavy.php Falcon Heavy 28.5 degrees 200 km 53,000 kg That is 53 metric tons. I always talk metric system. I have no clue what that is in English tons, but clearly neither have the Senators that "designed" the SLS, so I am in "good...

Sorry but no, that's not the way science works, and you have your facts wrong as well. Eliminating spurious sources is not done by calculating the expected quantity of the source and having a signal much larger. That's just silly nonsense and shows you've never studied scientific controls before. W...

Sorry, I think I am missing something? Why is this unusual? What is the energy gained by the displacement of the pendulum (viz. what is its length and mass of the bob)? Then, let's see what the energy in the 'capacitance' is, and/or what the e-field strength is. It's unusual because many have tried...

I think you are talking about longitudinal forces. There is a superb MSc thesis I found some time back that someone has looked into this. Very interesting read, very comprehensive: http://www.df.lth.se/~snorkelf/Longitudinal/Slutdok.html Chris: Thanks much for the pointer! And yes that is what I'm ...

Regarding the discussion about entropy. I've heard it said many times that entropy can only increase... it can never decrease for a system. I also, seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a theoretical maximum amount of entropy that can be contained inside of a volume. So, assuming the uni...
