^Yep Interesting read, although i havent got to the scalar waves bit yet ....hmmm. I need to say one thing here though.... REDUNDANCY If you have ever worked in aerospace very soon you will find everything has at least a twin redundant system. Engines, Pilots, Hydraulics, Avionics, Wheels. Some of i...

Its a Fake !
*Warning Sensationalistic Headlines* This is not room temperature superconductivity ! LOL i read this on slashdot this morning and just new that it would pop up here. What makes slashdot in my opinion, isnt so much the articles but the readers responses, collective wisdom. Use it. From Slashdot Rea...

Hey all, i just finished reading a great Phd thesis by Yeong-Jer Chen. Compact, repetitive Marx generator and HPM generation with the Vircator Awesome details and construction of a portable marx generator, e field and power circuit design of a portable vircator. Also had a very interesting analysis ...

It definitely does not make sense to me - more squeeze of field implies better confinement which implies less electron density into the center. I understand. The only way it makes sense is that i have worked in aerospace and know how "illogical" fluid flow is. Convergent ducts accelerate fluid flow...

Funny Thing That. I saw it on slashdot.org this morning Was very close to commenting " Lidsky correctly pointed out the economical flaws of Maxwellian Neutronic Reactors more than 20 years ago. Its the 21st century and Non Maxwellian Anuetronic reactors such as the polwell are an insightful approach...

What I don't understand yet, is why Bussard put the electron sources at cusps instead of at the face of each coil. Hopefully I can find out with a model! Hey Mike. This topic was briefly discussed a little while ago. I cant find the exactl link but basically one can inject electrons into coil centr...

^Funny i just read that in bed this morning.... Feynman was such a champ. I found his comments on the difference between bottom up and top down engineering to be rather poignant. He stressed that bottom up engineering, when you engineer each component according to its individual loads environment an...

Found this great paper on how to drive a virtual cathode. A source that matches the resonant frequency can drive it. Provided it is the correct distance away as energy is reflected back from the virtual cathode into the electron beam. This can cause distructive interference if one is not carefull. W...

Virtual Cathode Theory and Design of a Millimeter Wave Vircator. The advantage of the vircator over a reflex klystron is that the virtual cathode moves opposite to the electron beam propagation direction during the bunching phase resulting in enhanced electron densities unobtainable otherwise. The ...

Missing where the ions fit into this device, Well they dont. :) It sort of looks like a cavity resonator, if I understand the physics correctly, The cavity is there just to confine the electron beam and alow a virtual cathode to form. The virtual cathode forms, oscillates and generates RF according...

Vircators - (VIRtual CAthode OscillatOR) circa 1980
We have been studying Plasmas for about 100 years now. After reading the POPS papers, it is easy to assume that we just recently married RF and Periodically Oscillating Plasma Spheres together. This is not the case. Presenting the Vircator "The present invention relates broadly to microwave generato...

A smaller but also interesting problem is the fact that all accelerating charges radiate. I just found a comprehensive treatise on that subject . Wow. Despite Feynman's assurances, there is no general agreement in the literature about whether a uniformly accelerated charge radiates (in classical el...
