Doesn´t gamma ray lasers open the possibility of molecular level detail scanning methodes?
Like, "counting number of neurons in a brain" detail?

A quick search around the net tells me "BUDAEV Viatcheslav" hasn't touched the subject of 'Inertial Electromagnetic Confinement' ever since.

I was hoping for some actual photo's of the setup.

I have no experience in physics.
But the drawing seems to indicate the magnets are solid as in any electrons following the magnetic lines end up smacking into the surface of the magnet.

Or am I misinterpreting the drawing?

Thanks for the link.

Well, I found the design proposed in that document very functional.

And boring.

Surely something more interesting is possible?

World's first powerplant using fusion should not be a concrete box.

The polywell powerplant design?

The reactor plant, what would it need to have? How bulky would the complex have to be? Can we make the whole complex look like something from the year 3000? Sleek, low maintainance? Able to run for month without any interactions. Modular design, moron-proof. I remember seeing some images around here...

Friday Feb 19:Google Gets US Approval To Buy and Sell Energy

Slashdot: Google Gets US Approval To Buy and Sell Energy 'We made this filing so we can have more flexibility in procuring power for Google's own operations, including our data centers,' Google spokeswoman Niki Fenwick said via e-mail. But the authorization also raises the prospect that Google may ...

Odd, the cuboctahedron IS the MPG design Bussard used.
as shown here: http://ohiovr.com/polywell-faq/index.php?title=MPG

But anyway, here is the planar projection of it

What am I missing?
A uniform field.
In layman's terms, some coils are made up from one segment, and some are made from two? Is that what prevents a uniform field?
KitemanSA wrote:Can you do the same thing with the cuboctahedron projection?

By the bye, the MPG was NOT wired like this. It had a serpentine path around the volume but never once wove over/under like this. True, But I saw some designs here involving multiple inlets. I'd truly love to see that serpentine path! Making one on a planar projection is easy. So easy I feel I'm mi...

BTW, The geometry Bussard wanted to use for the original WB-8 was the icosidodecahedron, which looks like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/57/Uniform_polyhedron-53-t1.png/100px-Uniform_polyhedron-53-t1.png With 6 circuits you can wire it like the MPG devices. http://demon...
