Did a quick Google

Dietz seems to be a programmer with some interest in science threads. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Paul+F.+Dietz His argument style (at least re polywell) is, shall we see, a bit pugnacious. I wouldn't take his objections too seriously. I think he's just the type who likes to fight onlin...

Re: Good discussion

Right, when I said "full-scale" I meant net power: the Phase II 100MW demo Bussard talks about. I probably should have been more explicit. http://www.emc2fusion.org/ Fusion R&D Phase 2 - Design, Build and Test Full Scale 100 MW Fusion System 5 years, $200M Testing is the big question. ...

Re: Objections from Paul Dietz

Paul Dietz posted some comments about polywell fusion in the sci.energy newsgroup (about halfway down this thread ). To quote: Anybody have any thoughts on these objections? Yes, I had this discussion with Dietz at Rand Simberg's place. I don't know much about him, except that he seems very convinc...

Good discussion

Good discussion. Hope no one got their feelings hurt too much. BTW Simon, I think anticarrot said he was an aerospace engineer, not a nuke engineer, which might explain some of his questions. I found them interesting, but then I'm just a humble programmer/entrepeneur. As a programmer, I know new thi...

Re: Military looks at SSPS - polywell an alternative?

I wouldn't be all that excited to see the DoD involved in funding polywell research again. It would almost certainly mean another publishing embargo, and could be more of a setback than anything else, unless they decided to fund it at a level where it could actually be pushed through to completion....

My understanding is that the Dr. has already got his office/work space. No info on where. I've been told that the new work will be done in New Mexico. But that was, let's see, third-hand or so... hopefully somebody will issue an official press release (or at least a more detailed note) soon. Yeah, ...

Outstanding!

Great news... er, hopefully.

Glenn will probably link once we get more confirmation.

If this pans out, we can all be proud we helped, in small ways, to bring about a new age for humanity.

Re: California NOT funding Polywell research

Bill (from Governor Schwarzenegger's office) called again. He was unable to find any useful contact information for nextenergynews either. He pointed out that when a news site doesn't even have a phone number, you have to wonder about their credibility. He reiterated again that the story is false a...
