Why are you so easily provoked? It is my nature. Are you sure it isn't your nuture? :) MSimon sometimes reminds me of Captain Jack Aubrey in "Master and Commander, The far side of the World" when he responds to the Doctor on how to thank him for stopping in the Galapagos Islands. " Name a shrub aft...

For those of you who haven't seen it, this is pretty cool. It's video of the original tests of "Hotrod" the explosive powered prototype experiment for the Orion project.

Advanced Deuterium Fusion Rocket
Don't know if anyone else posted this, but in case they didn't, here it is! The design could achieve 6.3% of the speed of light. Winterberg also describes deuterium micro-bombs that can launch off of the earth using a total of 100 kilotons of small fallout free nuclear micro bombs for launching 1000...

I think I could do 5 nS with current technology - with feedback. The trick is to make the device repeatable to 5 nS on 1 second time scales. Not too tough even for drive power on the order of 100 KW. I might be able to get repeatability to .1 nS with a lot of effort. If I can get some kind of phase...

I'm always a bit skeptical of these rumors. My guess is it exists, but if it ever activated the launch officers would just mutter "Что за черт" and dump vodka on the thing. Funny you should mention that. http://www.worldcitizens.org/petrov2.html http://www.worldcitizens.org/images/petrov3.jpg Petro...

Dr Strangelove I presume ?
http://www.wired.com/images/article/magazine/1710/mf_deadhand3_f.jpg A decade and a half later, Stanley Kubrick's satirical masterpiece Dr. Strangelove permanently embedded the idea in the public imagination. In the movie, a rogue US general sends his bomber wing to preemptively strike the USSR. Th...

I may be too close to the topic to be of much good to you but consider this. Given that a capacitor dielectric can vary its total mass cyclically over a period of time around an average value, and you can apply an external force to the dielectric so it pushes the dielectric when it is heavy and the...

[ Okay, let me see if I can break this down in terms of Newtonian physics. F=m*a. If you alter m, then either the force or acceleration changes. If you alter m while applying an acceleration or deceleration (push/pull on the device), then you can change the acceleration if the force stays the same....

Btw, as you may have noticed I am not american. We didn't notice. You see, we have Americans that talk like idiots too. Now that we understand you're not an American, we will thank you to keep your unsolicited opinions about our politics to yourself. Have a Coke and a Smile and STFU. :) David And I...

Short, sweet, to the point. Obviously written for web access, but still good none the less. Like I mentioned over at Power and Control, you resemble my Uncle Jessie, except for the beard. Again, you generates some good Publicity for Polywell. I'm not sure anyone has done more to promote this idea th...
