Re: JET will attempt Q-record by the end of the decade
The record shot fusion output of 59 MJ is the largest amount of fusion energy output from any device in a single pulse. Averaging 59 MJ over 7 s gives about 8,4 MW of fusion power, which is a significant amount of power. Hopefully we will see this level of performance being surpassed in the not too ...

Re: JET will attempt Q-record by the end of the decade
Todays results were impressive because they were able to overcome the difficulties introduced by the ITER like metal wall and work around them with a device designed already in the 1970s. Being a device with copper magnets JET can only run for about 5 s a time. In 1997 the long pulse achievement was...

Re: JET will attempt Q-record by the end of the decade
Here is an interesting quote by Professor Ian Chapman, CEO of UK Atomic Energy Authority from the article by Melanie WIndridge: Right at the end of 2021 we completed deuterium-tritium operation on JET for the first time in a quarter of a century, so it will be fascinating to see the results from tha...

Re: Investment
Hi All I'm a long time lurker. Since around 2009 when I watched "Should Google go Nuclear?". I invested $150 in Eric Lerner's dense plasma focus. I'm aware that particular company is high risk. I would gladly lose $2000 just to hope to be on the ground floor of some of these other companies. But wi...

Re: ZAP Energy News
In 2022 we will hear about the JET 2021 DT-results. If they results are significantly better compared to 1997, then it will probably boost fusion awareness in general. Hopefully General Fusion will get the large funding they are preparing for in 2022. I would also not be too surprised to learn about...
