Re: EMC2 news

It smells like good news is rolling out. I have been greatly surprised that good news has been so slow in being revealed. The problem seems to always be lack of money. Perhaps EMC2 has convincing sim results, but sims alone have not been that persuasive in the industry. I wonder if EMC2's old machin...

Re: EM Drive

IVO Limited has announced that they rebooked for October on SpaceX transporter 9. No indication whether this was a last minute decision or not.
That is disappointing. For skeptics it is unsurprising. There is too much good news these days so I am not starved for hopium.

Re: EM Drive

Real Space Stations can now be built with spiny-wheel gravity and the whole bit, not to mention possibly doing station keeping with EM Drive like thrusters. The three main factors for space stations remain radiation, micro-gravity, and station keeping. SpaceX is poised to support solutions for all ...

Re: youtube Polywell critique with response from EMC2!

Yes, I get suspicious with coincidences. Perhaps he was fishing for news? I was disappointed when Polywell seemed to die after the paper came out that the cusps would close off with higher pressure, implying jump starting was needed, then computer sim work on improved modeling was performed. Then si...

Re: ZAP Energy News

Does not sound like a surprise because it was stated in SJ's linked video that the reason for current FuZE-Q performance is that it has not been optimized yet. Past devices obviously needed optimization also. I thought it was interesting that contaminants and their spectral lines were used to measur...

Re: ZAP Energy News

Yes, here is an abstract of a paper: https://pennstate.pure.elsevier.com/en/publications/advanced-space-propulsion-based-on-the-flow-stabilized-z-pinch-fu Abstract A fusion space thruster based on the flow-stabilized Z-pinch may be possible in the near-term and provide many advantages over other fus...

Re: ZAP Energy News

Plus their design is very compact and it might make for an amazing space propulsion system.
SJ, what method of propulsion? At this point their conversion approach is thermal.

Re: ZAP Energy News

From ZAP:
The paper has been peer-reviewed and we look forward to further feedback from the fusion community, a necessary and important step before we can share Q performance results.
One might speculate that ZAP has performance results that they want to report...

Helion Energy is reporting progress on their pulsed power supply system:
Good news for progress in that their key power system (electric power recovery system) has been built & tested at full scale.

Re: MIT claim they will build the SPARC

As if words can bend reality, these political fools put the word 'Justice' into everything. Right out of the 1984 playbook, turning fiction into harsh, gas lighting life. Gag. CFS is a Gates Grift platform.

Re: ZAP Energy News

Thanks Crowberry for the navigation to the abstracts. LPP with their limited budget seems to have dealt with the impurities & ZAP seems to believe that impurities will not be a show stopper. Real life is always tough, though. I assume that the >600A test results were with their now operational FuZE-...

Re: ZAP Energy News

I thought that 600A would put Zap over the top. Still, it is a big increase, and still stable. Is it too early to be optimistic?
