Re: superconducting magrid design
The SC would not need to be driven by HV, but the case would be at a high voltage and so the SC would need to be insulated from the outer case. At least that is what I am thinking.

Re: superconducting magrid design
Support each coil separately from the wall, not like shown on the WB-6, that way you are just making one magnet X 10 for a dodecahedron (or 6 for a cube). In fact that is how folks here think WB-8 is built, with 6 separate coils. Nubs are thought to be subject to too much heat and abandoned in WB-7....

Re: superconducting magrid design
Jon117, And the Sc? I was thinking as an alternative, coming out the bottom with a nested pipe, through drilled holes and welded out as the next outer layer is added. The tops would have no through holes. The Sc could then be in the center of the nested pipe. (if that is understandable). Just a thou...

Re: Is the ABSENCE of news, news?
in a world of increasingly more violent storms and flooding. I like science fiction too. The big worry is not the world warming but the opposite, getting colder. The good news is that with higher CO2 levels, plants will do better in a cooling climate than they would have otherwise. With such an exp...

We're using government issue lawn chairs to observe EMC2 progress, as usual. Need beer.

Re: Frankincense is psychoactive
It is the liberal socialist and social conservative dream, if only they could force people to be sinless.....It would be a perfect world.

Re: Frankincense is psychoactive
It's the G23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate that the meddlers added to the air processors to make people better, to force them to live without sin, since passing more and more laws didn't do it.

Re: Frankincense is psychoactive
Now all we have to do is genetically convert humans into mice and we will be able to understand human health and cure all disease.A 2008 study reported that frankincense smoke was a psychoactive drug that relieves depression and anxiety in mice.
