Re: Mach Effect progress

That is not to say their measurements are errors, but I would like to see more evidence. My position is completely reasonable and not pathological at all. You argue this subtlety yet you can't see that using the words spouting and suckering is hyperbole and insult. Since I only used spouting and yo...

Re: Mach Effect progress

You have yet to demonstrate anything but pathological skepticism as backing up your assertion the existing evidence is not adequate. Before you continue to so much as mention Rossi as being any sort of equivalent, I suggest you actually look at Woddward's, et al's, experimental protocols and the ca...

Re: Mach Effect progress

Why write something you wouldn't say to their face? They're not "spouting" I would say this to their face. TD's post sounds like he's definitively stating that it is a done deal. I disagree with that idea given the evidence thus far. I do think Woodward's approach is correct, but that does not mean...

Betruger wrote:Rodal & co are no Rossi
There's suckering and there's investigation
I don't see enough evidence to start spouting off that it works and its a done deal. Obviously I think their approach is far better than the Rossi sage or the Shawyer laugh-about, but we still need adequate evidence.

Re: Mach Effect progress

Except that is not the case. No sir, it has been replicated. And far more than merely once, twice, or thrice. Attempts at replication have occured, yes. I know of some that have failed and I know of some that report similar results to Dr. Woodward, however; I note that even Dr. Fern has acknowledge...

A bump at NextBigFuture https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2017/11/mach-effect-propulsion-2016-it-is-proven-replicated-and-will-scale-to-fast-interstellar-travel.html I read through what little actual words there were, watched a few of the videos, mind hasn't really changed. I did, however; read some of...

Re: EMC2 news

About this matter of physicists not being good at code and software geeks not being good at physics, why would anyone believe you can't have both on a team and have them learn something about each other's craft? This is why Dr. Bussard hired Kitty King and later Loren Jameson to work with him prior...

Re: EMC2 news

Or the incident in which the Patriot batteries didn't fire to take out a scud missile in Iraq because someone had used a float when they should have used an int. It showed up as a failure after days of operation. The Scud hit a barracks and killed a lot of our people. But I think Plasma physics sim...

Re: EMC2 news

I find it highly improbable that the people entrusted with this work do not know how to code properly. It never occurred to me that there should be any question regarding their competence. For one thing, the output would demonstrate it if that were the case. Do you honestly think these people don't...

Re: EMC2 news

I am well aware that many people with computer science degrees are highly concerned about code efficiency. My point here is that while it may be desirable, it isn't essential for this purpose that the code be efficient. What is essential is that it gets the physics right, and if you accomplish that...

Re: EMC2 news

Yes, we get it. You think you are a super duper brilliant software guy, and obviously professional nuclear physicists don't know what they are doing and are not fit to shine your intellectual shoes. For those of you who think the "News" section ought to remain free of snark, I wish to say I forbore...

Their equipment is good for 6 sigma at the observed signal level. I find that interesting consider the question of scaling and measurement came up in the video. An individual asked why they hadn't scaled up instead or presenting measurements on the very edge of their ability to detect. Heidi, in my...

Re: Mach Effect progress

Sadly most people won't be convinced until you land a 747 in their front yard. Also sadly, that would be rather expensive. You can't really claim thrust that is on the edge of your equipment's ability to measure and call it a success. People should still be skeptical at this point. Whether optimist...

Re: EMC2 news

They are moving forward. Still some remaining sim work to do, however they have enough analysis and conclusions now to start seeking support for the next work. The final sim work, if it has positive outcomes, will further support what they have now with the completed live research and the sim resea...

Re: EM Drive

I agree Shawyers theory appears to be rubbish. My opinion on the accounts is that Shawyer has spent many years and many hundreds of thousands of pounds testing his concept. He should know if it works or not. He is either right, criminal, or delusional. The remark about the B37b was meant to be mild...
