What about our friend Grover Norquist and his cohort? How many of us think it be a good idea to bankrupt the federal government, to drown it like a little baby in a bathtub of red ink? How many of us think it will be a great idea to live in poverty? How many of us think a return to the great depress...

Aneutronic fusion

Forgive my ignorance. A friend told me that the problem with fusion is that the neutrons chew up the reactor vessel. In my casual perusal of polywell fusion I notice that the technology envisions using a different reation, which results in much less nuetron radiation. Is Nuetron radiation why Dr. Bu...

Let's try a little different angle. Why hasn't Polywell been funded by a private philanthropist, or an entrepenuer? Let me just say, if I had a few billion floating around, I'd jump in with funding. Why didn't the folk at Google? Wouldn't you think that Gates would? Why feed the hungry when you can ...

I mean this seems as though it's bringing together the definite world of newton with the probabilistic world of quantum mechanics. In one something goes from one place to another; in the other it ends up somewhere based on probability. Thus we see the penumbra of a shadow.

I'm woefully out of my depth here, but wouldn't this be something in the way of a unification theory?

Solar and wind power are great. But if mankind is going to survive in the long run he needs to colonize beyond this planet. In order to do that you're going to need to produce power several orders of magnitude beyond what we are currently capable of doing. For that you're going to need something lik...

Cold fusion is interesting science. Very interesting. Perhaps we never will see any real cold fusion power generation, but I think we will see some interesting results in science generally. But perhaps most interesting is what the history of cold fusion tells us about human nature. Cold fusion has h...

Our main problem is to avoid a deflation trap.
However if one were to occur, those of us who have saved would be in a position to buy things such as real estate cheap.
But deflation traps can take years and years to end.
Hopefully Obama and his people can negotiate the rather tricky path ahead.

It is wrong to issue blanket condemnations. So I apologize for that. However even stalwarts of the GOP have mused upon how far off track the party has gotten. Serious soul searching is called for I should think.

However, today's GOP is scum pure and simple.
