Tomclarke, After I gave the example of a senior scientist at MIT squashing funding of LENR research http://e-catsite.com/2012/05/07/mit-phy ... n-funding/ you wrote
“one person's close mindedness is another's discernment. It is a mistake to believe that unthinking support for fringe science is virtuous.”

Now you write: “I've never said research on LENR at MIT would be unthinking support. However the problem is LACK OF research on LENR, and LACK OF experimental evidence.”

Make up your mind.

Don't know if this has been posted before.

Dear Pietro F.:
I have been authorized to give the following information.
The 1 MW plant has been delivered and is working in a military concern. It has been made in the USA, after the October test of the prototype made in Italy; such prototype will be delivered, with the modifications which we will complete based on what we learnt from the model at work, to a European Customer in July. I have not been allowed to give this information until now.
We are working very much and very hard to be as fast as possible. For the domestic E-Cats we have the necessity of the certification made. The industrial plants will get the necessary certification within weeks.
Warm Regards,
A.R.
I'm trending skeptical on Rossi, as not much seems to have happened. A second customer (or "customer" for the more skeptical skeptics) would tell us a lot. The summer should be interesting.
ladajo wrote:That has no bearing on Rossi being a liar and an idiot.
Yes, but is he wrong? :)

Besides being full of shyte, it remains a seperate issue if he has been trying to leverage someone elses work for his own benefit. That work may or may not be viable.
But as others have pointed out, once the information source (original work - Piantelli) was connection terminated to Rossi, Rossi's progress seemed to stall immediately. Rossi's "legitimate professor" Focardi had a falling out with Piantelli over taking money from Rossi for things that Piantelli had and was telling Forcardi about his previous work,.
Of course this was back in the days of Rossi claiming 31 to 200 COP along with Focardi. Now, Rossi claims he never said that...

In summary, maybe Piantelli was on to something, maybe not, but it would appear that Rossi has never really had anything.

Hagelstein has shown no interest in LENR research, as I define it. If he did he would stick to one experiment and analyse it to death. He would write up experiments in detail with proper dicussion of errors.

Given a LENR proposal to do this I would look at the likely mileage:

Are the techniques used going to get a better handle on experimental errors and pin down phenomena in a way that withh either prove the phenomena or stop the current embarassing LENR rush to scams?

So: thinking support for research would be getting what needs to be done here done. I can understand people thinking its not worth doing this because you are merely proving what people know anyway. But i don't agree myself. And i can understand people not thinking Hagelstein's proposal merits funds if it is anything like what he has published on experimental stuff - but of course I have not seen the proposal so this might just be somone against all LENR research.

tomclarke,

Yes it was.

TallDave,

In a recent interview Rossi mentioned that the prototype 1 MW plant in Italy had now been delivered and was working well.

And then in another interview he mentioned he has sold it to a new customer and will deliver it in July, and implied it is still sitting in the Garage in the back of the building housing "Rossi Brother's Tire Repair Shop".

Please provide the exact quote. Is this a matter of "expeced in July {May 13th quote} but done early"?

That's confusing. More recent than May 13? Either he meant the other one, or he's contradicted himself.

Free guess.

He did in fact contradict himself, again, as usual.

These things are relative. You probably think most on this thread are biassed against Rossi?

tomclarke,

A better answer of what I think, together with a description of the difficulty of getting anything published about cold fusion is given here:

Dear Franco:
We are working with good stability at 600 Celsius degrees. This, if confirmed by the next tests, clearly opens all the possible doors.
Warm Regards,
A.R.
p.s. Today, Saturday May 19th,right now, 6.10 p.m. in Miami, I am working at 600 Celsius with the new E-Cat

I just have this image now of Rossi taking temp readings of a new E-Cat painted flat black, running all day in hot Miami sun, frying an egg on that thing!

Sounds like it is time for Florida BRC to visit Rossi's apartment again.
