Everytime I see this one it makes me smile.
I love the fact that they did not forget the smoke. You can not have viable electrical stuff unless you pack smoke into it.

My fave is the 666 chip - a takeoff on the ancient but still produced 555.

666 is funny... I also like the 240V source with a dead short across it... solder blob... priceless stuff...

I want to build one, but when I put in a request to get symbols and part numbers for the components I'm getting some push-back.

One quibble, most parts contain magic smoke.

Be careful, Rossi is gonna get you for exposing the secret of the E-Cat.

I stuck it on a project in the lab today and got a few laughs. A couple of pertinent points ... I'm notorious for pulling out the hot glue gun, and a recent test setup did use my wife's blender.

I hope you gave it back. She is a nice lady.

She caught me with it, so I had to give it back. For the followup test I used my die grinder. The people I was working with complained about the gear noise it made, but I explained that it was the best $19 die grinder Harbor Freight sold.

I've done an analysis and the circuit above will never work. It lacks two critical ingredients: JB Weld and duct tape.

It uses Scotch Magic Tape instead of duct tape.

That's like saying it uses hot glue instead of JB Weld. No comparison. If you want to do a professional job, you have to use the right materials!

Another oldie: http://www.national.com/rap/files/datasheet.pdf
Write-only memory. Note the curve given for "number of insertions vs number of pins remaining."

I got sent a copy of that when it first came out - I was on the Signetics mailing list. It was a hoot because "computer" chips of any kind were Super Nova hot. As in hot to the point of stupidity. It got lost in my many shuffles. Nice to see it again. Thanks!
