New youngest fusioneer

Post by Tom Ligon »

It may be a little spooky that I got this news from an employee of DHS, but honestly they don't seem unhappy with young fusioneers. They just like to be sure they're on our side.

The new record for youngest fusioneer is now 13 years old. Not in the US, but with a friend. The previous record was Taylor Wilson at 14.

I usually stop reading articles the instant I see the word "boffin", but I made an exception for these.

Well, maybe not.

Go to the forum over at fusor.net. They award "neutron badges" for those who have gathered evidence of fusion. The problem is that the kid is showing neutron emission way in excess of what would be expected. So, no badge yet. But the forum members have offered to help him clear things up a bit, so the kid might still get his badge.
