website performance

Quick note/question to admin:
Is there any way of boosting performance somewhat on this server? Oft'times i simply can't get on at all, the whole website crawls to a standstill & appears to fall over in a heap. Pretty much unusable much of the time. Any chance of a RAM/CPU upgrade?
