That's quite a handful. Which papers are really important?

derg, none of them and all of them is right answer. None of the tokamak papers deals directly with IEC problems, but they all have some interesting solutions to difficult problems. Getting ideas from other corners of the research world is always useful, even if there is not a direct application of their solution to our problems.

Curiously, almost all of the papers are made by Japanese scientist. This seems very much like a in-nation magazine, in English to show just how uppity it is. Well, that's my impression anyway.

It does seem like they are showing off. Good for them.

And it is FREE.

Many scholarly journals, no matter the originating country, publish in English. That is especially true in the hard sciences.

It certainly makes our work easier.

WRT the free part, there is a movement to push all work performed under government contract to freely (as in beer) available publications. As you can imagine, the scientific publishers don't like this.
