Polywell and patents

Post by torshie »

Just curious, is the basic polywell design patented or public domain ?
I mean just the basic 6 coil design, since some minor modifications/improvements to the basic design are probably patented.

The original patent was granted ~ 1988(?). Another patent of WB6 refinements- round casings and spacing was applied for ~ 2008 but this was denied, apparently because it was not deemed sufficiently different from the earlier patent. The earlier patent has expired.

Several Polywell patents have been filed. Some have even been approved.
