So a question-- I don't believe any kickstarter project has come close to the money needed for polywell, but if someone tried, what would be the requirements of such a project?

Given Poly has multi-million dollar support from DoD, I doubt you could sell it as a Kickstart project, which is really for unfunded projects.

Charles,

Dr. Joel Roger wanted 240,000 for a test machine.

I think some computers with some MCNP code and about 18 months of salary for 1-2 qualified people should be a enough to determine if the Polywell has any modes of operation, or a resonance condition. (say 100,000).

Also, check out this film - "Polywell Fusion explained In 6 Easy Steps." These 6 steps are titled:

1. Electrons emitted, fall
2. Electrons caught by rings
3. Electrons trapped by rings
4. Electron cloud trapped
5. Deuterium puffed in, ionizes
6. Ions fall, hit, fuse
