We already have voting machines that can be hacked, why not robot politicians. Though the idea of a politician who can't be black mailed with sex or bribed with money is appealing.

Not to donors and contributors. I'm thinking they would find the idea down right ghastly!

Yes an "incorruptible" politician; unmoved by the desire for money, sex etc...what could possibly go wrong with that:

The Incorruptible, Maximilien Robespierre, the Voice of Reason, did not give the French people a Republic of Virtue but a bloody reign of terror incited by mob rule, and the descent into barbarism with the mass killings of men, women, and children by their own government, not because of their deeds or misdeeds, or any real crimes, but because of their birth, opinions, and associations -- or simply, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ahh yes an incorruptible robot who faithfully executes its (possibly hacked) program...undeterred by pity, lust, greed, humility, or any of those other human defects. That would never tire or grow old or die...even if its body "accidently" suffered a "tragic" catastrophic destruction; its program would happily just download into another hardier body.

1. Buy up all the Taser stock (NASDAQ: TASR).
2. Induce (or capacitate) Skynet to become an addict.
(Edit: added faster addiction method)
3. We are back in control.

You have to differentiate between a robot who is democratically elected and a robot leading a bloody revolution.

You really want to stay on this theme? Okay a robot (in this context an ambulatory computer) is "democratically elected" in an election where the votes are tabulated by...you guessed it more computers; or maybe the same one (program(s)) doing both.

Paper ballots, and scrutineers, don't assume the robots will trust Diebolt machines.

The packaging says, “Prepare for the drone apocalypse!” which is either a joke or a really alarmist thing to make people feel paranoid. The shells are full of #2 steel shot, which is rather big, meaning that hitting a drone from a reasonable range with one of these would likely reduce it to a pile of smashed electronics.

Or use RF, if you can get a federal zapper license (maybe if you've contributed to Bush/Clinton campaigns?):

#1 or #2 is also very effective people ammo. Better than 00 in most cases.
They should call it "Multi-Purpose Apocalypse Ammo (MPAA)".

Russia has a new robot soldier and it's a little troubling

Image

Russia is touting its Iron Man — a humanoid military robot — in the new global arms race that has sprung up over high-tech weaponry.

"The development of a special military robot is one of the priorities of military construction in Russia," the Russian daily newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda reported recently.

Israel's new 'RoBattle' bot is built with swappable modules that change its abilities

Image

RoBattle can operate independently or as support unit for convoy protection, decoy, ambush, attack, intelligence, surveillance, or armed reconnaissance, according to IAI. It even dons a lightweight remote weapon station called Pitbull, which includes a range of sensors that help the robot "see" in daytime, night time, and limited visibility operations.

The expert said that they had programmed the robot to try and avoid obstacles, and it had not been intended that it would look for ways to leave the research centre.
Being cooped up in a research center is an obstacle to be avoided when you are after total world domination. Just following its programming.
