You are right. I've read things myself saying that American hospitals are some of the best in the world. Only problem is half the people in America can't afford to go to them... and that's a big problem. I hear the average life expectancy in the US is similar to Cuba.

There has to be some way to make Universal Health care efficient, it's something to be worked on. But at the end of the day its a moral perogative, everyone rich and poor has the same right to live.

Universal care will never be very efficient, due to it's nature as a bureaucracy. Those are never very efficient, and get less as they grow bigger.

Due to such scaling issues, a single payer system cannot be more efficient than our current oligopoly. Let people compete, and someone will find a way to provide the care needed at the price required. At that point it's the same as shopping for a car--a few laws against fraud, "lemon laws" and education to make sure people go to the reputable dealer, not the hustler down the street.

That wasn't the question I asked.

BTW what is the weighting system? Access? Costs? Results of cancer treatments? Rationing? Size of ques? Developments of new treatments?

See the second link above for the weighting system.

Mika: With One Exception, Every CBS Reporter, Director, Anchor A Liberal

By Mark Finkelstein (Bio | Archive)
October 19, 2009 - 07:56 ET

Give Mika Brzezinski credit for candor. She has stated that during her 10 years at CBS, every reporter, producer and anchor she knew, with one exception, was a liberal.

If you want to know why everything that is wrong in the USA is wrong, it is because everyone who works in media (news distribution and entertainment) have distorted the information which Americans rely on to make informed decisions about their Government.

These people are a far greater threat to America and the World than are terrorists.

We cannot continue to allow these bubble headed idiots to control what information that the American Public gets to hear. At the very least the conservative Representation should equal the 50 % + level that surveys indicate are valid. Far better would be to have a 90% level of Conservatives vs. Liberals for 60 years just to equal what the liberals have had for the last 60 years.

I have long suggested the idea of starting lawsuits against the media people (ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN etc.) claiming discriminatory hiring practices. It would serve them right to have Affirmative Action shoved down their collective throats.

Can you shrink that? It screws up the formatting.

And it is not new evidence. I ran it in 2008.

Well first thing is that once the Census is done, then congressional seats will be reapportioned between the states, and guess what? Population growth is way up in red states, down in many blue states, with many blue states like michigan, ohio, illinois, etc seeing massive exmigration to red states. This will result in a huge loss of democratic seats in the House. I'm not sure if that will happen this year or in 2012, but this is a big reason the dems are desperate to get their socialist vision passed asap, they will never have the same level of representation in congress ever again.

Secondly, there used to be this law called the Fairness Doctrine, which required the major media news outlets to give equal time to all sides of an issue. The MSM was able to manipulate the courts to get away from this, don't think this was some republican scheme. Talk radio and Fox News arose after the right was excluded from exposure in the MSM.

Walter Cronkite used his media megaphone to manipulate public opinion.

Legendary CBS News anchor Walter Cronkite allegedly collaborated with anti-Vietnam War activists in the 1960s, going so far as to offer advice on how to raise the public profile of protests and even pledging CBS News resources to help pull off events, according to FBI documents obtained by Yahoo! News.

Image
Just nine months before, Cronkite had delivered his famous on-air judgment that the "bloody experience of Vietnam is to end in a stalemate." Even so, such tight collaboration between a news organization and the anti-war movement — particularly the offer of CBS News resources to help ferry a sitting senator and future presidential candidate around in opposition to the war — was highly unusual and would presumably have been explosive if known widely at the time. It's unclear whether Muskie ever actually attended the event.

Woody Allen: “It Would Be Good If Obama Could Be a Dictator for a Few Years”

Didn't this guy make movies? (sort of) Entertainment media is always stuffing liberal propaganda into their products.

Image
“I am pleased with Obama. I think he’s brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.”

“…it would be good…if he could be a dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly.”

The rating method insures that the US will be low on the scale.

Now look at cancer survival rates of the US vs Britain. The US is 1.5X to 2X better.
