And funny enough Conservatives like to tout their historical knowledge of how politics works. "First they came for..."

You CAN use the State against your enemies. But eventually the State will come after you. Because some day YOU will be declared an Enemy of the State.

It happened under Stalin. The Austrian Corporal practiced it. And now it comes to America. All for the LOVE of police and using the State against YOUR enemies.

It was Nixon who began this modern era of Stalinism in the US:

"Look, we understood we couldn't make it illegal to be young or poor or black in the United States, but we could criminalize their common pleasure. We understood that drugs were not the health problem we were making them out to be, but it was such a perfect issue...that we couldn't resist it." - John Ehrlichman, White House counsel to President Nixon on the rationale of the War on Drugs.

And the Right cheered. Some of them are still cheering.
