No doubt, the gap is more than large and the advances needed are huge.
But I think also that most of the needed tech will arrive in short time once the base technology is proven and you actually have an application for those technologies that you need to research.

Yes, pretty bold design. I like the idea of using inflatable modules (finally!) and the centrifugal section. I didn't like the dependence on photovoltaic modules for power generation.
Anyhow, I doubt we will ever see it due to the actual US budget crisis.
I really hope to be wrong on this one.....
