... fudge! a few days ago i came across a 200 + page recent IEC fusion study/report done by some physicist(from MIT i think)... and he was stating that the IEC fusors can be improved greatly even to generate net power... he covered every aspect associated with IEC fusion from theory to design and was sayin how they need to be changed to better the chances of fusion etc.... Basically he was saying that thers is a lot to learn and a lot that has not been tried. I cannot find the link to that paper anymore... i intended to submit it here but i forgot ...

The next window that comes up, i was expecting to see their 200 page thesis on IEC and why it has lots of promise, but the only thing you get is the text "It works!"... what could that mean

yes that was the thesis i was referring to. Thank you for finding it. This is the first "positive" IEC thesis done in a long time... and it was put together by a professional individual at an accredited institute!
This is very, very good news, and ought to encourage everybody to not be so skeptical about IEC fusion succeeding.
The link to that paper should be posted under theory/design as well.

... i was hoping that "it works" was their way of telling us that they had a working IEC reactor, and the reason theyre not "properly" confirming their results is because the review panel have not yet submitted their findings... QUIK! Get the review panel in there before your coil shorts out!

They have not finished updating their html?
It`s been months now since they changed that specific hyperlink so it shows the text "it works!"(in reference to the iec fusion device) instead of the thesis...
Now it still shows "It works!"
so do you think that they are still updating their html, msimon?
Last night I listened to the Feb 12 broadcast of "The Space Show". The guest, Bruce Pittman, was talking about alternative fusion projects, p-B11 fusion, etc. Dr. Bussard came up pretty quickly, as did some article that appeared recently in _Analog_.
I wish I'd been able to listen when it was on live, as I would probably have called in. The weather got me and I was not home in time.

The text "It works!" is the default home page for the Apache web server. (You may have seen some of the other default pages, like this one) In other words, somebody wiped the machine clean. Any page you saw before has now been replaced by a "under construction" page.
