What use do you envisage for this in Polywell?

Dunno what use this might have in Polywell, but is quite an amazing material.
If the manufacturing costs are not out of this workd this material might spur a small revolution in material Engineering.

Hadn't envisaged any use in particular. A solution looking for a problem (reverse systems engineering, not to be confused with systems reverse engineering).

Vacuum contaminant sensors?
Vacuum contaminant "getters"?
In alpha flux shielded areas, of course...

[Edit: removed several bad ideas that were not consistent with an extremely low density]

Coating fragile silica aerogel with a polymer to improve its mechanical properties:

...a polymer conformal coating on the silica nanoskeleton not only improves the strength of aerogels, but their elasticity and flexibility as well.

Interesting. Provided that they are able to streamline the polymer coating process this could be very useful for the Bigelow inflatable system.
