The reporter is not very good. He managed to miss-spell Bussard (Brussard). The "radioactive boy scout" comments are a stretch, probably derived from a Wikipedia search with an article I consider to be speculative and poorly supported.

Zits on the face of a teen are not evidence of radiation burns, and the larceny charges seem to have been unfounded. Meanwhile, the lessons learned have made the young fusioneer set more aware of doing things right.
