The culture may be fine. It may be the system that is broken. Any system that only allows peolpe to vote in FAVOR of cr@p will necessarily produce cr@p. If they can vote against it, maybe not-cr@p will begin to emerge.

Come on. The culture is not fine.

E.g. You won't get that system with this culture.

The system was defined at the beginning of the country when we were first getting free of the "King and Country" mold. I think they made a pretty good first step. Unfortunately, it got locked in pretty tight.

However, if all those people who claim to be FOR term limits (which has been found unconstitutional) would support "Full Option Voting" instead, maybe the system could be fixed.

You will not get a better government until you get a better people. That requires educating a couple of generations. Go to it.

I still think that Romney is worse than Obama, if only a tiny little bit.
I have learned in recent months that there is really not a big difference between the reps and the dems when it comes to the really important decisions. They both have been happily voting for laws contradicting the constitution over and over again in recent months and Obama did nothing to stop them. I dont see where Romney would. If anything, he seems to be even more supportive of all this. So why should I vote for him?

I voted for Obama and am having buyer's remorse. Only thing he excels at is offing terrorists, which is good but doesn't make up for spending us into a 1 trillion dollar deficit a year rathole. Life long dem(for the most part), but am open to other options. Don't particularly like Romney, would vote libertarian maybe but they poll so low feel like it would be a vote wasted. By the way if you are Austrian how can you vote in US elections? Unless you are a service man posted overseas.

Which it should be noted has been done by continuing policies of his predecessor, which he condemned during the 2008 campaign.

I'd not be surprised if Romney approximated the performance of G.W. Bush. Which while not really good, isn't driving full throttle towards a cliff.

Hopefully the next generation will have learned:

The problem Ihave with this is that the Obama phenoninum is only symptom of the current situtation, not the cause.

I cant, but my wife can (she is a US citizen). Sorry, should have been more careful in my wording. "I would not vote for Romney".

You mean the GW Bush that gave us the economic crisis and made the US less popular than it has ever been before in the world? If that does not mean driving "full throttle towards a cliff", I dont know what is.
Not saying that I am a fan of Obama. His support for NDAA was a really huge letdown, among other things.
He said that he would veto CISPA, we will see about that. I kinda fear that he will flipflop on that too.

Ohhhhh, please! This is probably the worst type of propaganda that I have ever read. Soooooo many assumptions that are simply not the case. Reading this makes people dumber!
Also worth mentioning is that the standardized test idea was introduced by republicans...

In that sense, any vote not going to the winning candidate is a vote wasted. That's self-reinforcing pessimism. Even if unsuccessful, every vote not going to the big two is a signal that real change is wanted, and it might just be enough to convince others that it's possible, too.

I will point out that the original propaganda came from the Obama campaign itself, a cartoon with a litany of wonderful government programs that "Julia" and I suppose the rest of us just must have:

The whole tone of "All things flow from the great Obama" is sickening.
