I think that this is appropriate: http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/11/cargo_cult_keynesians_1.html Heh. Now conservatives can't distinguish between monetarist policy which used to be loved by conservatives and Keynesianism. Real Keynesian policies were NOT tried in this crisis. While severe aust...

No. Just google for 'Milankovich cycles' that's the main part of the explanation.

Climate Change? Typical. Climate-change deniers take ONE datapoint, lie about it (and then usually accuse everybody of being a part of world conspiracy). Here's a more detailed graph: http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/rss_msu_feb2008.png Yes, we are at a local minimum. So frick wha...

MSimon wrote: Which assumes that carbon uptake is a one factor problem. Which it is not.
You see, if it is not reflected in carbon isotope concentration, then it's too low to matter.

So why when I give you evidence you don't like including more complete models and the head of the IPCC saying we are at least temporarily headed for cooling do you deny it. I deeply mistrust models which give results in disagreement with the earlier models. Usually, finer models _improve_ old resul...

I spitted my tea over the keyboard.

The "fourth-order polynomial curve" is about the worst argument I've EVER heard.

They have been disproved? Some sites to begin learning about the sun. Yes. Sun's energy output is pretty much constant, and its activity doesn't influence climate much. In the recent paper ( http://cc.oulu.fi/~usoskin/personal/nature02995.pdf ) scientists tried to correlate Sun's activity with weat...

It is a very good thing climate science is not evidence based. And that only computer models that predict warming need be taken into account. You know what theories that are non-falsifiable are called? Give me a hint. Uhm... Climate science _IS_ evidence-based. And so far the theory that CO2 causes...

Quite right. Huge worry. Something must be done. I propose increasing atmospheric CO2 by 10X so it will be closer to the conditions in which coral evolved. They evolved as free-living species. And they seem to be able to revert to that stage: http://scienceblogs.com/notrocketscience/2008/11/corals_...

Yes. And if the climate equation was as simple as F=ma the climate scientists could do as well. The main thermal balance equations are about that simple. I.e. if you let more heat to be retained then temperature goes up. It only gets more complex when you try to calculate what exactly if going to h...

Re: Define Climate Scientists

Please define "Climate Scientists" , then provide a complete list of all the names of these "Climate Scientists" who agree and disagree on global warming, their level of education and the number of scientific papers they have published. Here you go: http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final....

cyberax ... you've lost all perspective. The Earth is vast. A computer model image on your screen is not the actual size of the planet, and the numbers you are cranking out are based on the assumptions that went into it, not what nature is in reality doing. So? Solar System is unimaginably more vas...

Well not likely. It is a statement against interest. And the latest models incorporating the latest knowledge of ocean circulation confirm his prediction. You got something against the latest climate models? Yes. The basic problem is: we pump a lot of CO2 into atmosphere. It can be readily verified...

Well no. A big chunk of ice is breaking off an ice shelf. That is not proof of anything. Just as icebergs are not proof of anything. Ice shelves are NOT getting bigger in general. They steadily retreat, with varying speed. Also, yearly swings are getting bigger, as we see less and less buffering ef...

Re: How many stations

I think you make my point. The interior of the Antarctic is desert. The coasts are moderated by water. It's more complex... For example, Namib Desert is right on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. You also need to account for geography and prevailing winds. BTW, http://scienceblogs.com/intersection/2...
