I have worked at and with companies that had people with equally or more "impressive" credentials that never made it. BLP claimed that they were delivering reactors to potential buyers, I do remember that. That was years ago. I would call that a broken promise. I don't recall them claiming that exa...

Defkalion says they have some appointments for their Hyperion testing invitational.

I would assume at least some will issue public statements. Should be interesting.

As it was announced in our November 30th Press Release, a series of third party tests on Hyperion products have been scheduled to be performed within the first months of 2012, immediately after our product’s certification. The present announcement does not refer to such product tests . With this an...

Reading the comments (some from Defkalion) it is not clear what they will allow. Static calorimetry is simpler in terms of equipment than flow calorimetry, but much more difficult in terms of analysis. So just working out whether a test of this type is safe or not requires great precision. If there...

If I have read the Defkalion test parameters (within which tests will be agreed) right: Drill down to the parameters within which testing will be agreed. They will not allow flow calorimetry. This is what would (easily) have proved Rossi's reactors real or false had he ever adjusted the flow rate f...

Here is Mat Lewan's NyTeknik article on the Defkalion invitation for testing of their Hyperion reactors:

All this bickering is a waste of time. If Defkalion can deliver the goods (and we will hopefully know within a couple of months), then obviously Rossi stumbled onto something despite what people think, justified or not, about his past. If the Defkalion independent tests fizzle, then so too does thi...

Here is some more information from Defkalion on their test program: 1. Our availability for such testing is from today, any day, within the next two months. 2. This series of tests will be performed in one of our labs in Athens, Greece. 3. Independent testing means, by definition, third party calibr...

So the once hoped for UoB test of the eCat seems dead: http://blog.newenergytimes.com/2012/01/24/university-of-bologna-terminates-relationship-with-rossi/ I must say that Rossi seems to be a serial name-dropper. He likes to mention association with some credible organization (e.g. UL, UoB, UoUppsala...

I can see how this can go one of three main ways: (1) premeditated scam, (2) self-delusion, (3) Real deal. I do think there is circumstantial evidence to support all three. I guess it bothers me that some are so dead sure of one of three at this point. It's not a case of being dead sure - rather wo...

Fraud is possible of course, but given the relatively high profile of this affair (much of it created by Rossi himself), its hard to understand what kind of life he would have after being exposed . He may never be exposed - difficult to prove a negative and all. There have been plenty of similar sc...

With such a loose grasp on reality any commercial transaction where he accepts money opens him to possible fraud, of course. But does not guarantee that he believes himself a fraudster. The Delusional Rossi Hypothesis is a possibility, but I think the Witting Fraudster Rossi Hypothesis makes less a...

He obviously could care less about winning skeptics over with well designed and independently verified tests. Then why bother doing the demonstrations at all? Well as the story goes, he initially did them for Focardi who had a close brush with death and wanted the story told before he passed on. In...

My guess is that Rossi is terminally optimistic and genuine, in the sense that he has a reality dysfunction which allows him to interpret the many demos as validating his tech, only it needs "tuning". Further, he has little grasp of reality and does not distinguish between what he hopes will happen...

his subsequent comments about fixing the gaskets and changing the control system to one using National Instruments is not something he needed to report but adds reality to the story Yep, adding superfluous detail is just the kind of thing that fraudsters do to lend a story more credibility. ...
