I notice briefly looking at their site that they do competitions with prizes, on the fusor.net forum they have a prize there too.

That could be a way to encourage development in my view.

I'd be interested to know just what Foresight has achieved in a practical way in 20 odd years.

I think political approaches are not going to work well, but other approach could well work. I see more of a grass roots approach being one that could make it work myself, as business is less keen on something so risky. If people are willing to give money to charities half way around the world, or s...

Our approach is a little simlar to geothermal power, expect geothermal has been around for sometime, yet even if you try convincing a politican about that, your onto a loser! I had the, lets call it good fortune.. to chat with some of my very local politicans and suggested to them the benefits of bu...

That sounds a good idea to me, I wonder if there are any other world based groups along similar lines.

I have to say, with my experience of more than a decade of being around politicans (and for my sins 2 years working in government..) I can say they come close the biggest group of useless people ever.. They can get things done, but more often than not, what the end result is, is some watered down ef...

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Iran Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2005-10) The five-year economic development plan also calls for generation of 6,000 MW of electricity through nuclear technology by 2010 to meet its increasing demand for energy. My understanding is their oil res...

There may well be trade restrictions on which countries the technology could be sold to, which could have a dramatic effect on who has it, and who does not.

Iran

As they have an intent to use nuclear power for electric generation and their relationship with the west could do with improving, cooperatiion over such an endeavour would help international relations whilst at the same time reducing tensions over fission work in their country.

A very sensible idea in my view.

I'd hazard a guess such a person would cost in the region of at least $4k a week to hire, thoughts ?

Isn't there something about mean free path not always applying in some cases, I seem to remember reading someplace recently.

I also seem to remember something about rather than going for a vacuum, going the oppersit way and increasing pressure may work.

Suggest live chat feature

Something which would enable rapid development on ideas, either an IRC room, or something web based would be fine I reckon.

I find http://ircatwork.com good for a free web based way into IRC myself.

One way to get more publicity would be to establish local groups, like they did in England in the 1800's, pooling resources would be more efficient than everyone working in their own backrooms trying to replicate each others work.

I was using religon as an example of a group that expands its userbase with the aid of an income tax on its members, they also have local meeting places and network with each other to help each other economically.
