Yes, rj40 - the power company will notice the loss, and track down the culprit.

Of course, if you mounted the device in a car, so that you powered an electric motor from the EM, there wouldn't be a single place to track you to.

I'm just sayin'.

In point of fact, I've seen electricity.
In a vacuum tube, flowing nicely from anode to cathode.

I actually think there is a lot of sense in the Zurich model for drug treatment and decriminalization.

The first step must be to take distribution out of the hands of criminals; after that, dealing with those who cannot handle them is less troublesome, because they aren't double-stigmatized.

Fusion product Alpha particle

I'd been meaning to work out the cyclotron radius of the fusion product alphas for some time, so I finally did. Cyclotron radius: r = mv/qB For an alpha particle in a p-B11 polywell, we have: m = 6.64424*10^-27 kg v = 1.16*10^7 q = 3.20*10^-19 C B = 10 T so, r = .0242 m That's significantly tighter ...

There is a reason Bussard's high-thrust (ARC) engine design used the polywell only for energy production, and preliminary heating of the reaction mass.

His high-ISP design, though - that one he planned to focus the fusion products out the exhaust bell.

Cadgy scientists make extraordinary claims very slowly. First releasing "anomalous data" papers, carefully not making claims, only later - after the data is undisputed - starting to make claims about it. It allows a fast & loose paper writer to steal the theoretical thunder, but it also lets you kee...

But Xenon is a common fission by-product. Maybe N Korea made up the Fusion thing to try to divert attention from a nuclear reactor accident.

Burn-down ADS or ADEP plants are under development in almost every first world country. Polywell could come out today and it would not stop.

Hrm. I invoke Godwin's Law, this thread has terminal illness. I see, any time you talk about the history and the politics of a region and it leads to the Austrian Corporal it must be air brushed out. That's not how things work. The problem is that even accurate and proper mention of the Nazis for c...

Any cost is significantly more than free.

Millions of square miles are in agriculture, and we don't need that room. It is not cost effective to provide hydroponics for bulk crops, but vegetables and vine fruits might be practical.

In a Brayton cycle jet engine, high temperature means lousy thrust efficiency. Low temperature means lousy thermal efficiency, and corresponding low thrust efficiency. Um... NO. Adding heat on the high side lets more drop happen with the same ambient. That's why you heat an airstream to increase je...

"America has almost no real rail" Heh. the CIA's world factbook gives a better view of that. Railways: total: 226,427 km country comparison to the world: 1 Area: total: 9,826,675 sq km (which includes Alaska, but let's go with it) That means each kilometer of rail serves 43 sq km of territory.
