If we assume that the Mach Effect thusters work as Prof Woodward claims could we actually build one that gives significantly higher thrust than his test thrusters with current materials, if he is in fact right about them would we likely end up like the space elevator, we know roug...

I've been wondering for a while now why they don't use the residual heat coming from the fuel to run either a thermocouple or a Stirling engine to run pumps to keep the core cool when they loose external power. Does anyone here know? Is it just that you can't put the components in a place that will ...

I'm not sure of the physics here, but it doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would have a different set of Efficiently computable problems (ie: sounds to me like polytime ins this system is exactly like the classical P)

Doesn't make it less interesting though.
