Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
We are collecting an enormous amount of data that shapes the technology by the day, generating patent applications by the week. Unless my memory is mistaken, which is entirely possible, Rossi was generating new patent applications back in early 2012, over 18 months ago. It occurs to me that LENR re...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
...and of course, all of those fields were measured at a distance of 20 cm. from the source--- not It seems there's confusion with real magnetic fields acting at macroscopic distances and localized magnetic perturbations. I have a suggestion for you. Go find a magnetic source (it may well be superco...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
As I posted elsewhere, the magnetic field of this monopole comes from a POINT in the center of an EMF current ring making it extremely concentrated and very powerful. This energy focusing(10 to the 16th power tesla) is what enables energy levels to reach high enough magnetic power levels for nuclea...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
At any rate, as noted, a Faraday cage is electrostatic shielding, not magnetic. So, do your own research. The amount of force exerted by a 1.6T field on a closely-placed Permalloy shield would be huge--yet I saw no evidence of such a shield in the Hyperion, which would be hard to miss. I'm not check...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
What surprised me is that anywone survived the DGT test demo if a 1.6T field was present. That's about the intensity of your typical medical MRI machine. And there are plenty of examples of what happens when anything ferromagnetic is brought near that: http://www.simplyphysics.com/flying_objects.html

Re: EEStor says something - but not too much
Looking at TheEEstory web site, it seems that traffic is way down and all that seems to be left are a few hard-bitten believers spewing ad homs. Steorn went pretty much the same way, IIRC. One thing that has always bothered me about Weir is that he had his layers in, what 2008, 2009? - and years lat...

Sterlings aren't being made any more--I think the last ones were made in 1991.
The engine was made by Honda, anyway.
I think both people quoted meant to say "Stirling Engine". The fact that Rossi doesn't know the difference shows his level of familiarity with the technology, don't you think?

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
..snip... Another thing that occurred to me is why only a single reactor was used for the test, explaining that using hydrogen or helium for the dummy run would have contaminated the test. Back in 2011, DGE stated that they had made at least a dozen operating reactors. Where did they go? Is this li...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
I would agree with your demo/test definition and that the recent DGT was clearly a demo (I don't think they even claimed anything else). However, the last examination of the Rossi hot-Cat comes much closer to being a "test" than you intimate IMO. It did happen on Rossi's premises (extensively for I...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
First off, we don't know the source of the "magnetic fields" statement. Might not have been a Defkalion person. Second, you ignore my use of "probably," and I "suspect" in the post you are responding to. There is no assumption, mere speculation. This is a significant difference. You need to take yo...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
So, certain Mr. Lewan checked water exits reactor at 142 C (!!!!)and is already promoting license sale at 40.5 M$? What power device produces 5.5KW or 27kW? Just so--did anyone actually measure the temperature of the water going down the drain? Where, exactly in the water stream was the thermocoupl...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
I'm more than a little confused over this Rossi thing. Where and when did Rossi ever attribute the energy output from his "hot cat" to LENR? Is it just other people who are attributing the heat output to LENR because they want some sort of validation for LENR? Is it a matter of "it can't be chemical...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
Why use radiometry and Stefan-Boltzmann to measure the power output? That seems to me to be a very round-about way of doing calorimetry and depends on a number of "guesstimated" factors.
The paper gives no clue as to why this was done.

Re: Anybody got any info on this solar patent filing?
It should be noted that this is the same guy who back in 2008, proposed fixing global warming by evaporating the oceans: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2008/12/21/58124/scientists-doubt-inventors-global.html#.UY00qEmVtpg His mantra seems to be "it looks good on paper". Good thing he doesn't do his groce...
