You're not dealing with facts or evidence here. You're dealing with the old saw attributed to Julius Caesar:
"Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt"
Briefly, "Men readily believe what they want". I'm sure that Mr. Rossi is very familiar with it.

Re: Rossi USPTO patent progress.
I view it as an extortion issue--get Rossi or his licensees to pony up some hard cash to get the application dropped--cheaper than suing.

Re: Rossi USPTO patent progress.
Chris, you seem to be the expert here. What do you make of this application? Given the lack of detail, it's sure to be rejected. So what's the point in filing?

Re: Rossi USPTO patent progress.
This tidbit comes from the US Patent and Trademark Office?"... from the Licences and Review Department..."
In the USA, we spell it "Licenses", not the UK (mis-) spelling. Is the USPTO too poor to afford spell checking on their computer systems?

Re: Suppressed tech?
This is nothing more or less than a simple galvanic cell, not much different from a plain old Leclanché cell (i.e. a cheap carbon-zinc battery). Any metal sufficiently high on the electrochemical list can be used in place of aluminum--the Leclanche cell uses zinc, but aluminum, iron, magnesium, etc....

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
Good point. I had not really thought of it clearly that way. Although, I am thinking that there is some mechanism to bring suit across borders. I guess in this case, the cost has yet to generate the desire. Maybe that is part of his strategy, limit single large $$$ points of contest. Much harder to...

<munches popcorn... wonders how long before the Rossilieweb implodes under it own weight and goes Nova. Munches more popcorn> It could be years, yet. Are there any Italian investors (aside from Proia who seems to be acting as a shill for Mr. R)? If not, there's probably no one with Italian legal st...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
As silly as the Forbes article is, I can't see anywhere that Larsen claims that new isotopes or elements are being created, just that their distribution is being altered. There's a lot of junk in a CFL for a very small amount of mercury--electrodes, glass, phosphors, etc. Selective isotopic absorpti...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
Larsen seems to see LENR everywhere. I suspect that he sees it in his cornflakes in the morning.

Re: White House announces new US open access policy
It'll probably be a cold day in Hades before any of the professional societies will open their journals for free to make NSF, DoD, NIH...funded papers available to the general unwashed. Heck, even if you're a member of such an organization, you'll get charged if the article that you'd like to see is...
