Re: Mach Effect progress
. . .I am not sure why we are discussing history. . . I can tell you my reasoning if you like. My training, skills, talents lie in philosophy of technology, and I think the best way to view revolutions in science and technology is through the window of history. When we look at any true paradigm shi...

Re: Mach Effect progress
I would argue the more interesting question if there are any interesting milestones we the eager public should be looking forward to this year from either Deep Space Transport or Woodward?

Re: Mach Effect progress
I'm still working on recruiting. It's much harder than raising money. In fact, even the investors will tell you, raising funds is almost the easiest job an entrepreneur will ever do. I need guys in half a dozen different disciplines in science, and cofounders who have both the hard science backgrou...

Re: Mach Effect progress
GiThruster, Found a reference to this paper from a set of folks from ORNL disputing Mach effect theory while reading the EmDrive thread on NSF. Wanted to know if this is an old rebuttal and if so what is the correction. Also, is this the same set of guys that are referred to in the Woodward book tha...
Re: EM Drive
All of the theories that pretend to explain thrust from the EM drive violate conservation. Sonny White even claims he is violating conservation in the lab. By way of contrast, Woodward's theory is guaranteed not to violate conservation by Noether's theorem, just as is GR. And it is just as skippy s...
Re: EM Drive
Definitely exciting news. Gives me hope that the next report will have some solid thrust numbers under very good controls. Especially if they can deliver on running the copper frustum in a null configuration versus using a dummy load.

Re: Crossfire Fusion
I am a bit surprised to see you posting this. I have seen some of their earlier posting on their idea, while it seems intriguing I do not have the knowledge base to poke holes in it even though my gut tells me something is wrong with it.

Re: General Fusion in the news
Thats wierd given the publicly available information on LPP, I would think you would include them in the runnings.
Re: EM Drive
Well, this is an interesting explanation for the thrust down at Eagleworks. I think you might consider sharing it with Paul March as well as Dr. Rodal over at NSF. While I'm unconvinced there is any thrust measured at all since they haven't yet provided any significant scientific controls--all rele...

Re: Well he's not Zefram Cochrane, but...
Cynical much.... I am the first to agree that human nature is a problem that gets overlooked when discussing these things. But it is not a permanent wall we can never get over. Calling it such is basically saying we will never evolve. People dont share for one simple reason, it is wired in their min...

Re: Mach Effect progress
GI, had you seen this article from John Baez regarding EM Drive where later he attacks Woodward Theory in the comments? https://plus.google.com/117663015413546257905/posts/C7vx2G85kr4 Quickly perused the comments. Aside from the fact that Baez seemed to have also suffered from the same problem the ...

http://i.imgur.com/cp5eAOh.png No. That painting is from before the Butlerian Jihad. Those are the computers and robots that were turning humans into animals. That is a depiction of the Pre-Jihad lotus-eater utopia that the Bene Gesserit overthrew. I get it...as H.G. Wells might have said the Eloi ...

Betruger,
what is that image from? from what I can tell of it it seems to depict the first part of my statement. Is there more I should be getting from it?
