Re: Chan method of replication
Back to the Chan method. While I think there are a lot of missing details, he does give an interesting description of a "claimed working device" with a minimum of ingredients (MgH2, Ni, Cu, Fe.) I posted a summary here: http://www.ecatplanet.net/showthread.php?100-Chan-Method-of-Ni-H-fusion Can any...

I see no confusion. The ground state of the cavity is the TM00 mode and the BEC forms when the cavity is irradiated such that the photon population in the ground state is large. What you do not understand is that there is no ground state here. There is a "lowest possible energy state" which is depe...

Perhaps you would be so kind as to link a relevant critique of the experiment. Superficial similarities of the apparatus to exciton BEC experiments not withstanding, the photon BEC seems to fit theoretical predictions very well. No critiques seem to cite the original paper, this is very strange pra...

Incorrect. If you read the article and those that cite it you will see that this system fulfills the conditions for a 2D BEC. And that the emission properties are dependent on the number of photons in the resonant cavity. Generally people don't get nature publications simply by making a dye doped r...

BEC of photons was reported in nature last year. Keep up with the literature people. http://blogs.physicstoday.org/update/2011/01/a-bose-einstein-condensate-of.html The BEC behavior of polaritons was reported in science in 2002. That's not really a BEC of photons in the strict term of the BEC meani...

Suppose an amateur wanted to replicate an E-Cat, and attempted to prepare Ni powder. What is a cheap way to do this and remove or convert the oxide? You would need a high vacuum pump, like a turbo pump, or liquid nitrogen trapped diffusion pump. I figure it would cost you about 10k to amass the req...

Uh - lithium aluminum hydride has to be handled very carefully. It is also used in the mfg of some illegal drugs so it may be difficult to obtain unless you are an advanced Chem student, teacher, or practitioner. I can highly recommend these guys if you need a vacuum furnace. http://www.ipsenusa.co...

I didn't go crazy till I came here and found all these "believers" mascarading as scientist types. :D  I still find it hard to imagine that a plasmon can concentrate it's energy enough to generate 10^11V/m fields. So your plasmon theory is still slightly insane. It is implausible. But worse i...

I still find it hard to imagine that a plasmon can concentrate it's energy enough to generate 10^11V/m fields. Why would it need to? By the way, what is the field of an electron? In the NASA presentation, the theory of their device is that the terahertz plasmons propagating on their nanopatterned s...

I especially liked the bit on entropy. http://newenergytimes.com/v2/government/NASA/20110922NASA-Zawodny-GRC-LENR-Workshop.pdf Actaually slides 19,20,21,22 seem to be quite interesting. It is a very logical way of testing this spp mediated theory. I wish I could have been at the talk. Kiteman may n...

Sorry i don't understand what this means. The vast majority of the weight of the reactor was accounted for. A 1 litre sealed vessel (as reported by professor levi) contained the reactor material. Please share your calculations that account for the heating chemically. 1 liter of internal volume holl...
