Diogenes, I think I understand where you're coming from now. As for the site, it was a hassle to search down the first bit of information, not looking forward to doing it again, but I'll glance through again soon. I agree with your last 2 posts. Unfortunately I think too many inherit their economic ...

1. Where do you get these numbers?
2. When you have money, it is easier to make money. You can fund your own capital investments.

There's clearly been a redistribution of wealth in the country over the last 30 years. In 1980, the top 1% earned 8.46% of the total AGI, and the bottom 50% earned 17.68%. In 2002, the top 1% earned 16.17% of the total AGI, and the bottom 50% earned 14.23%. In 2008, the top 1% earned 20.00% of the t...

Also Legal reform would help. I know a Doctor that pays $150,000.00 per year just for malpractice insurance. All depends on specialty/field. I know several doctors who don't and only make $110,000/yr. I definitely don't agree with the level of mal-practice suits and insurance required, but at some ...

If this is the case, why would I make more money on welfare than I do at my $16/hr job? Hell ... my (apartment) rent has doubled in the last four years, but in the last two years my health "insurance" costs have increased five-fold and are now MORE than my current rent payment (about 40% of my take...

Kiteman, I disagree with your assessment of entitlement programs not being an investment. The idea behind them is not to provide for "freeloaders" as some of you have put it, but to lend a helping hand when times are down for certain families. I am from one of those families and I do view what we re...

School vouchers apply when there are no options, however; if made publically, there would generate a competition for sure. Unfortunately, not all good things come from competition such as standardized tests which studies have shown put children of different races other than white often at a disadvan...

The problems in the educational system are not due to lack of money. If anything they are due to an excess of money. School vouchers will solve the MAIN problem with education. My highschool cut programs and laid off teachers as did much of my school district just as I was graduating. Everyone year...

The Laffer Curve is in effect the integration of the hormesis (J) curve writ upside-down. It FAILS however to do justice to the REAL issue which is that higher tax rates create NEGATIVE revenue to the country. The Laffer curve never goes negative. High tax rates result in lower tax revenue to the g...

Re: Taxes and the GOP walkout of debt ceiling negotiations.
Entitlements are completely misnamed. The people receiving them are absolutely NOT "entitled" to them. They are hand outs to bums and free loaders mostly. So...I'm a freeloader and a bum because I took federal grants to pay for college? By your definition because I took hand-outs I am, is this what...

The fact they keep rebuilding in the same place is inevitable. The Mississippi River and Drainage Basin is THE critical import-export transportation artery-capillary network of North America. Without it, American power does not exist, because capital costs skyrocket. That main artery MUST have a po...
