Giorgio, The question is not whether there is any point in starting research before the October demo at this late date, but whether the information about Rossi missing two payments was false. There have been a number of derogatory rumors about Rossi posted on this thread and this sounds like anothe...

@Skipjack Correct. @Parallel I personally do not think that the contract with the UoB is of interest anymore. I saw this contract just as a way to try to get some mainstream credibility, but now the time frame to the announced October test is so tight that a research contract with an university is ...

ah, OK. I didn't really believe our thinking could be 'that' different. But peer reviewed publication IS what i was referring to - ultimately, nothing short of that will satisfy, IMO. I'm quite curious what benefits the "peer reviewed publication" may offer for Rossi. In fact, it would be quite stu...

It is just an engineering task which requires quite an ingenuity to overcome the Coulomb barrier. It is irrelevant how hard physicist has been trained without the sufficient ingenuity and motivation the practically viable fusion can not be achieved. You are absolutely right saying that fusion is ju...

The guys working on Polywell should have an ownership with very modest current compensation. I do not think that just a good "training" is enough to make a breakthrough, people should bet their lives to make such accomplishment. we dont just believe in things, that's not what science is about. we'r...

I'll believe anything if there is a steady job in it." Why not? It is very rational position and viewing from this side you will always have bread, butter and piece of bacon. we're scientists, we're in the business of logic and reason. Great!! Just add the money as part of model you are so skillful...

This seems simpler. http://isotope.info/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/enrichment-of-ni-58-by-electromagnetic-isotope-separator.pdf Seems very elegant and simple; should be increasingly inefficient for smaller ratios like 238/235. However, I would not be surprised if enrichment as a separate pre-proces...

Try it then. I bet you will not be given a reactor without paying money. And money back guarantees are notoriously slippery. See if you can get one in writing no questions asked. tomclarke> he is a liar... His investors would be really upset if he reveals the complete truth; please tell me what ben...

Any public information from Rossi&Co is unreliable and he really has no reason to provide a "reliable" one, in fact it would be quite stupid to do. The most supporting evidence for me is that it is not a R&D with “great future” it is an actual device claimed to be ready for industrial usage so, inv...

you may be right. But as Betrugger states, 'the coffee machine gag' is a running joke here. Besides, my own personal view is that Rossi 'insults' the scientific community when he presents his 'work' in the way that he has. He deserves whatever flack finds it's target. Actually if Rossi is for real ...

...Such comments apparently imply a trivial invidiousness disguised by sarcasm. What the point? If Rossi is a scam nobody will care otherwise you may... you may be right. I must have missed whatever you are referring to... What is improbable about a coffee machine? .. that Rossi will ever be in a position to buy himself a new one.. ever again :D Such comments apparently imply a trivial invidiousness disguised by sarcasm. What the point? If Rossi is a scam nobody wil...

Let me put it like this: Whether or not there is any truth in the whole LENR 'phenomenon'/debate - I await some solid replicable evidence from other 'reputable' labs. Trouble is, any other 'reputable' lab considering such work, will also be waiting to see if this whole commercialisation fiasco blow...

Possible, yes. Probable, no. What I mean is that if such a behaviour existed we should have noticed it since quite a long time. Cracking the coulomb barrier is not something that tends to pass unobserved in a lab. The probability is still in debate. As sparky suggested with his TN bridge analogy, s...
