I've enjoyed the last few weeks watching the cable news idiots declare the various failures of Obama, while strangely polls show people disagreeing with them. Obviously the American public has a distinct liberal bias.

I'm a tad busy right now. People I work for are expecting something to be done. The nerve. But I'm thinking of trying to do something a bit more involved than a typical RC sub, but nothing like the advanced submersibles that uncovered the Titanic. Fly by wire that could operate at moderate depth, wi...

I've been toying with the idea of a fly by wire submersible. It occurred to me that fiber would be the wire to use, because of weight. But I believe that fiber doesn't bend well, so perhaps not.

Formula One racing is putting a push on for KERS systems. At the moment most of the teams are using battery based systems, but the feeling is that flywheel systems have greater potential, if the bugs can be worked out. Those guys in the pressure cooker of competition and for the love of their sport ...

I'll say this much. I got out of the stock market and pretty much hid my money in a mattress in late 2007. I haven't made any dough the last year and a half, but then again I still might be able to retire.
I wasn't listening to Glenn Beck when I made that decision.

What strikes me is the intolerant bigotry that one observes in men of science at times. In the case cited earlier, this professor Miley, a respected figure at a respected, world class university, has conducted an experiment that has yielded interesting results. Based on these results, he acquired fu...

Cold Fusion

http://www.polyplasmon.com/?p=1 This link is to a blog about cold fusion, discussing work done at the U of Illinois, a world class research university. The DOE has put a hold on funding. A lousy 100k and some one has put a hold on the funding. It seems to me that there's something disgraceful about ...

Our software sucks. Way too brittle. Productivity didn't drop off in 2001, and Moore's law was still in effect until about 2005. With greater storage you can do things you couldn't previously. I'm able to host a large db right at my desk, when previously I would have had to setup a server and tolera...

ya know this is probably something that has been discussed here, but why hasn't some wealthy individual thrown in with the polywell? Assuming the estimate of ~200 million USD to be correct, why wouldn't someone like Gates put in the money for the opportunity to become unimaginably wealthy? Why is th...
