An example of rational adults in operation. https://nypost.com/2018/02/26/florida-lawmakers-reject-assault-weapons-ban-approve-bill-allowing-teachers-to-carry-guns/ Except for this. " They did, however, agree to raise the legal age for purchasing a firearm to 21 " <-- No feloniously minded people wi...

Re: Crime and Punishment: Oklahoma (& Texas) style!

it's a clear cut case of the system in place failing catastrophically More to the point, it was not a failure at all. It was the obvious and necessary result of policies conceived of and approved of by Democrat partisans in a county of FL where Dems reign and have for decades, to the detriment of a...

Re: Crime and Punishment: Oklahoma (& Texas) style!

There were so many fails in the system in this case it was mind boggling. but it was more than the local police , the human services and even the FBI blew the pooch on this one. on a side note of my informal poll of teachers, 0 for 6 against arming themselves The fact this was in part the result of...

Re: Crime and Punishment: Oklahoma (& Texas) style!

Assault Weapons Preserve the Purpose of the Second Amendment I fully recognize that there are many millions of Americans who flatly disagree with the notion that armed citizens either can or should try to deter tyranny. Either their trust in the government is so complete (or their sense of futility...

Re: Crime and Punishment: Oklahoma (& Texas) style!

The biggest problem with arming teachers is how does law enforcement know who the teachers are,LEOs come in and seeing a teacher taking a stand how do they not know he is the aggressor ? I have several educators in my family and they surprisingly came back with an unexpected response. "I don't know...

Re: Crime and Punishment: Oklahoma (& Texas) style!

Anybody has any professional military training or law enforcement training knows that a man with a handgun going up against a man with a rifle will lose that battle the vast majority of the time. In an open field at a distance, sure. Not even a credible thing to engage the rifleman then. This was i...

Re: SpaceX News

Amazingly enough, only 23 days after "losing" a billion dollar government payload, SpaceX was tapped to launch another billion dollar government payload in GovSat1. Which they just deployed into a perfect GTO orbit. Another flawless launch, and, from the commentary, a clean, soft, gear-down landing...

Rodal & co are no Rossi There's suckering and there's investigation I don't see enough evidence to start spouting off that it works and its a done deal. Obviously I think their approach is far better than the Rossi sage or the Shawyer laugh-about, but we still need adequate evidence. You have yet t...

Re: SpaceX News

Nogo for launch I noticed INDIA has a fail to deploy fairing and lost a satellite. They use a system very similar to what Musk falcon 9 uses to deploy fairing. They ran into a problem with the pneumatic pushers they use to deploy the fairing. I do not know if this was a local manufacture or somethi...
