Of course, some others disagree. http://sci-phys-plasma.caeds.eng.uml.edu/1998/07-98-18.htm The link, and even the site itself does not work. Strange, that link was working last week. Paul Dietz pointed me to it after I responded to some of his comments on Rand Simberg's blog. Anyway, that message ...

I always found it strange that a single student discredits an entire promising field regarding fusion, and then starts working in a non-fusion related job. Somehow, that he did a slippery job does not surprise me. Monkhorst has done a critique of Rider's approach, in which he says it is not possibl...

I studied plasma physics about 30 years ago. My degree is in Physics, but I spent my career doing engineering in an unrelated field. I was hoping to calculate things like energy and electron confinement time, whether this thing will have velocity space instabilities, etc. Polywell appears to be MHD...

The general idea is that Navy has stopped many programs research (not only this one) due to budget limitations Which is due to the Iraqi war. Has anyone in the navy written any technical evaluations of Polywell? I recall, and even might have some papers that are from the DARPA archive, but most of ...
