Re: Musk's Powerwall
Pdxpyro's question, "Do renewables really produce "excess" energy?" could be looked at differently. How about thinking how much energy did it take to make the panel versus how much it produces over its lifetime? Taking into account the energy to mine for the minerals, process them, transport them, m...

Re: Since we had this discussion about UAVs and F22s etc...
I wonder when the last aircraft carrier will be bought? Imagine a strike group with an E-2D system in an aerostat overhead (24/7 by the way) and a fleet of drones (that could have substantially different takeoff and landing requirements, thus smaller and denser flight decks). Would we still need Nim...

Re: WARNING sign
Such wholesome fun. Might I add: Exhibit B - Shovel that was leaning against Exhibit A Exhibit C - The vast yard behind Exhibit A in which Exhibit B appeared to be used numerous times in. So many times, we are not sure we looked everywhere. Exhibit D - The firearm mentioned in Exhibit A. These three...

Ya'all understand the implications of unnatural sources of Mach effect on a scale and timeframe to cause universal expansion beginning 7.5 billion years ago, right?
Wasn't there a Star Trek Next Generation episode about something like this? Didn't we already talk about this?

Tyler,
Based on the assumption that Polywell works and will "burn" PB11, I would say you need to figure out to do direct conversion.

I brought up this discussion almost four years ago!

At the time though, I thought we were just a couple years away from "knowing" we had cheap clean energy.

Re: 31,000 scientists say global warming is a hoax
Ah, I was at work and could not watch the video. Perhaps "very" was not needed. My point, not that I had much I suppose, was that sometimes when you are set in your ways, you are set in your beliefs. A somewhat insensitive statement on my part since the content of the argument is what is important. ...

Where do you get "31,000 scientists" from this? I see one very old meteorologist.
Re: Go Navy!
Might I suggest you two stop before one of you gets yourself in trouble, especially you Ladajo. There are a few things that "authorities" take very seriously and submarine technology and performance is one of them. Suffice it to say, US submarines are quite and have significant advantages because of...

GIThruster, Why can you not accept the "pushing the envelope of security" opinion of someone in the know? We all would love stuff to cost less. But the stuff doesn't always cost what we want or ask for. And for the record, I AM an aviator. Ladajo does have a clue about what he is talking about. Glen...

Re: OBama tries to kill the A-10
I remember hearing back in the mid '90s that the USAF wanted to retire the A-10 program. From what I understand they immediately changed their mind as soon as the Army said,"You're going to retire it? How much do you want for the entire program? We'll buy it all!" I had heard those rumors too. Actu...

Re: OBama tries to kill the A-10
If I could fly any plane, it would be the A-10. Unfortunately, its time is over and we can't afford everything.
