well oscillating the magnetic field strength was just an idea that i threw out. and that's a good point, it might disrupt the wiffle-ball effects. maybe not so good of an idea. oscillating the charge, on the other hand, esp at high frequencies (e.g. RF-range) isn't going to affect the magnetic field...

here's a very good post on the subject i found: http://www.polywellnuclearfusion.com/Cl ... /POPS.html
it sounds to me like they're gonna try it.

i would think that in the latter stages of testing they would at least do a little experimentation with RF and maybe oscillating the magnetic-field strength. they can certainly try it out and see what happens. (though i think w/oscillating the magnetic field strength they'd have to be careful to kee...

a good programmer should be able to produce more readable and flexible code that runs orders of magnitude faster and has higher accuracy than a non-programmer, and in considerably less time. a good programmer knows things about computational complexity classes, program optimization, good coding stan...

try removing every other coil. i.e. all "north out" coils, since like you said adjacent coils in this are going in the same direction, the three neighboring edges of the "north in" coils will provide the necessary current for the "north out" field. then you get rid of those funky "saddle" cusps. whi...

... The key (as I understand it) is the bunching of the ions into spherically converging waves so that ideally all of the ions reach the core at the same time... that's what i meant when i said "...so as to reduce radial maxwellianization"; i meant inducing "spherically converging waves" through ha...

...so to get an idea of the induced current, just picture half-arcs connecting each face to the neighboring faces of opposite color. those are the recirculating paths for electrons. protons just get trapped inside by repulsion with the recirculating electrons. There has been a bit of debate as to w...

edges vs. planes and electric / magnetic fields.
So, for ANY magrid design you will have a set of faces where the magnetic field goes inward and a set of faces where the magnetic field comes outward. In this respect the octahedron configuration of which I’ve spoken earlier is no different than a WB6 (truncated cube) or WB7 (rectified cube). The o...

...and 2 consultants
and you know what consultants do: farm their work out to companies which in turn farm that work out to contractors who get maybe $30/hr. so by "2 consultants" they really mean "10 independent contractors who actually do all the work but don't get any credit (or money) for it".

really the absence of evidence / evidence of absence thing is a non-sequitor. you're making a probabilistic assertion, collecting data, and then refining that assertion by using the data acquired. sort of a bayesian update, if you will. the assertion is that the mean of the poison process "seeing a ...
