Let me guess: They're so obvious you can't bare to lower yourself by actually listing them? The I can't be bothered to argue back argument sucks big harry ones and will do little to convince the ill educated paranoid popularity fanatics (otherwise known as politicians) who run your country. They wi...

1) Missing out on significant practical issues; without even saying he was leaving them as 'minor engineering problems for the student'. An attitude contributable to the fact that the man definitely won't see the ground tests of the thing, let alone someone building a rocket out of it. If it is pos...

That means that aneutronic grids have to be shielded as well, I recall that Bussard wants to use boron-based material. However, an aneutronic reactor could have its operating lifetime massively increased. EDIT: Also, I recall that neutron-producing p-b11 based reactions only occur in certain situati...

Even the optimistic predictions for QED/DFP engines don't have high thrust and high Isp because there are usually fundamental problems with that. I recall that QED engines in particular were relatively high Isp and had enough thrust to get to LEO, and then some. Yes a Isp of 4k-5k would be very nic...

If you have to play with neutrons, fission has the advantage of being surrounded with water. Fusion needs a vacuum so it's hard to stop the neutrons and absorb their energy. In the case of the tokamaks, where they are trying to put helium between the cryogenic-cooled superconducting magnets and mol...

um whats the point with fusion and radiation? you can just do fission then What's the point of fission in the first place? But even the radiation of a normal neutronic fusion is x1000 lower than fission because it doesn´t produce radioactive sub-product . In case of D-T fusion the helium produced i...

what in gods name does this mean: "The nearly aneutronic fuels are not merely more difficult, but are impossible, unless you can find a very large loophole." ? It means that "No one should try with aneutronic fuels, anyone saying anything else is whacked. Unless we can find the magical pixie dust t...

Livechat is easier to access, and there could be volunteer members that would try to answer anyone that would inquire. And would moderate. Nice job with the webpage. It certainly looks better that what EMC2 already has. My suggestions for improvements: 1. Use switching quotes, not just Bussard's. I ...

Oh, the 2150's is pretty peaceful. No nuclear explosion has been recorded for over 40 years, the last one in China (long story with that one, suffice to say that was an end-result of a long fiasco in Asia alone, other continents have became peaceful much earlier). Since then, there has been a UNE ba...

So, are you doing art that is somehow connected to Polywell?
There was a fellow member that said that he (or she?) said that he/she is working on a movie regarding how fusion would change the world. So, are what other, fellow artists and writers and such have imagined with the power of what mighty sunfire can do? Myself, I'm slowly writing a web-novel. The id...
